Abstract: A method for operating a video monitoring system for a rail vehicle includes determining a topology of a signaling network assigned to the video monitoring system, and identifying nodes signal-coupled to the network. At least one video camera and at least one video recorder are nodes of the network. A signal path for the at least one video camera of the network is determined on the basis of the determined topology of the network. The signal path represents a signal arbitration or signaling-related assignment of the at least one video camera. The at least one video camera is automatically assigned to the at least one video recorder on the basis of the determined signal path. A device for operating a video monitoring system for a rail vehicle and a rail vehicle are also provided.

Abstract: A system for color characterization of an self-illuminating imaging display device and synchronization of the appearance of color images displayed on a self-illuminating imaging device is disclosed which is configured to embed a color characterization program in a response to an initial browser based request for a color image to facilitate the color characterization of a self-illuminating imaging device associated with the browser, forward the embedded response to a web browser, and generate a profile characterizing the self-illuminating imaging device using the color characterization program.

Abstract: A photographic original is photoelectrically scanned by way of a color-enabled scanning device for the manufacture of a digital color picture and a raw digital color picture is thereby formed from the scanning data obtained. The final digital color picture is formed by way of a color transformation of the raw color picture according to the principles of color management, whereby a device specific profile is used which describes the combination of the type specific calorimetric properties of the original and the transfer function of the scanning device used, with respect to an analog manufactured reference color picture. The different types of originals occurring in practice are assigned to categories according to calorimetric similarity criteria and a master original is selected in each category. Profiles are respectively created only for the master original. Depending on the quality required, different category assignments and selections of original type of master originals can be made.

Abstract: A color information file is produced in a processor for the communication of colors, which file can include all possible information data assigned to one or several color samples and identifying, characterizing or supplementing them. The information data are stored as data objects in the data information file in an open and expandable hierarchically organized object structure on XML basis in text format. By embedding the data objects in an XML container, it is possible to characterize color samples by way of arbitrary and different combination of information data and to selectively add complementary image or text information. The color information file is produced with the help of a text editor or a composer software, for example with graphic user interface. A viewer software is provided for the reading of the color information file and for interpretation of the information data stored therein.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method of spectral or colorimetric characterisation of a self-illuminatng imaging system, in which the imaging system produces a color field which is matched visually with a reference color field, wherein a transparent color filter film with known spectral or colorimetric reference values which covers a reference color area of the imaging system is used as a reference color field. The invention also provides for the use of the method of spectral or colorimetric characterisation of a self-illuminating imaging system for calibration of the imaging system.
