  • Patent number: 7579039
Abstract: A method for coating a cleaning region of an interdental cleaning device, which includes preheating the cleaning region to a predetermined temperature. Then, immersing the preheated cleaning region in a coating agent. The coating agent including a flavoring agent encapsulated in a wax, thereby forming a coating on the cleaning region upon immersion. Next, a flow of air is forced across the coated cleaning region in a drip zone, thereby removing an excess portion of the wax and exposing at least a portion of the flavoring agent at a surface of the coating. Then, the coating is cured by cooling the cleaning region.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 18, 2004
Date of Patent: August 25, 2009
    Assignee: Braun GmbH
Inventors: Gerhard Finger, Thorsten Emge, Manfred Klawuhn
  • Publication number: 20090094770
Abstract: The invention relates to a bristle, e.g., for toothbrushes, and a corresponding manufacturing method whereby the bristle has at least two coextruded filaments of different materials in the longitudinal direction, and the cross-sectional area of at least one of the filaments decreases toward the free end of the bristle.

  • Publication number: 20080256725
Abstract: A method of applying a consumable, in particular a wear indicator dye, to toothbrush filaments and/or other wearing parts for personal needs, in which the consumable is added to a medium which is subjected to pressure above atmospheric, and the toothbrush filaments and/or the wearing part are exposed to the pressurized mixture of consumable and medium for a predetermined exposure period. The medium to which the consumable is added includes CO2 as an essential constituent. The mixture of consumable and CO2 can be circulated in a pressure vessel under high pressure, so that the mixture is caused to flow around the toothbrush filaments or the corresponding wearing part.
