  • Publication number: 20190266164
Abstract: The technology disclosed relates to a system that provides exactly-once processing of stream data. The system includes a queue manager which receives a stream of data. The system establishes aggregation intermediation checkpoints during processing of the received data. To do this, the system partitions delivery of the data stream at offsets, saves partition demarcation offsets at the end of processing windows, and saves intermediate aggregation results to a distributed file system with a window identifier (abbreviated ID) that correlates the offsets and the aggregation results. At each checkpoint, the intermediate aggregation results can be initially saved on at least one write-ahead log (abbreviated WAL) on the distributed file system and, post-saving, persisted to storage in accordance with a fault tolerance scheme.

  • Patent number: 7292454
Abstract: A system and method for minimizing the effects of non-uniform dielectric properties includes forming traces on printed circuit boards (PCB) where the fibers within the printed circuit boards are non-rectangular with respect to the rectangular edges of the circuit board. The orientation of the traces with respect to the fibers substantially minimizes the effects of non-uniform dielectric properties of the PCB.

  • Patent number: 6354140
Abstract: A leak detection system for use with a fluid conducting system in a vacuum environment, such as space, is described. The system preferably includes a mesh-like member substantially disposed about the fluid conducting system, and at least one sensor disposed within the mesh-like member. The sensor is capable of detecting a decrease in temperature of the mesh-like member when a leak condition causes the fluid of the fluid conducting system to freeze when exposed to the vacuum environment. Additionally, a signal processor in preferably in communication with the sensor. The sensor transmits an electrical signal to the signal processor such that the signal processor is capable of indicating the location of the fluid leak in the fluid conducting system.

  • Patent number: 5363422
Abstract: Spacers (10) with a cell-formed lattice-work for retaining parallel elongated elements such as fuel rods (5) into a bundle in a nuclear reactor fuel assembly are arranged in a suitable spaced relationship to each other along the bundle, and the cells are formed from tubular sleeves (1). Each one of these sleeves (1) offers a passage for one of the elements in order to fix the elements in relation to each other. Substantially half the number of sleeves (1) in a spacer (10), distributed evenly over the cross section of the bundle, are located in a first plane across the bundle and are joined to each other inside a first frame (11) surrounding the bundle, thereby forming a lattice of sleeves (1) and gaps (13). The remaining sleeves (1) of the spacer (10) are joined together inside a second frame (12) surrounding the bundle and are located in a second plane, separate from the first plane, across the bundle.

  • Patent number: 5263071
Abstract: A spacer for retaining parallel, elongated fuel rods includes a plurality of cells which are formed from tubular sleeves internally provided with fixed supports and at least one spring arranged opposite to the fixed supports. The spring is intended to make contact with a fuel rod inserted into the sleeve and is formed as a leaf spring which is cut out of the wall of the sleeve and which, when the sleeve is empty, is bent into the sleeve. The leaf spring is adapted, in tensioned position when the fuel rod is inserted into the sleeve, to be returned to a position substantially coinciding with the wall of the sleeve.
