  • Patent number: 7325649
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel acoustical chamber for enclosed loudspeakers which help direct and control sound waves within the enclosure thereby enhancing sound output. The present invention utilizes a method of progressive damping which utilizes multiple layers of damping material or layers of material with variable density or damping characteristics within an enclosed chamber. The damping material is arranged such that the density of the material in the chamber decreases as the distance from the driver increases. The damping materials may also be configured such that the density of the material in the chamber increases as the transverse distance from the center of the chamber increases, that is, the density of the material along the outer surfaces of the chamber is denser than material which is transversely inward from the outer surfaces.

  • Patent number: 6816598
Abstract: The present invention is an improved loudspeaker with greatly reduced impedance and improved response and power handling in the low frequency range. The benefits of the present invention derive from a novel, synchronized, multiple driver design in which the output of a first driver is synchronized with the output of a second driver to produce an acoustically reinforced output. This synchronization is achieved through a phase shift of the input signals to the drivers.

  • Publication number: 20020003888
Abstract: The present invention is an improved loudspeaker enclosure port with internal longitudinal dividers which help reduce turbulence in the port and control port selfresonance. Preferred embodiments of the present invention comprise a central circular tube or rod with radial dividers connecting the central tube to the internal wall of the port. The internal longitudinal dividers of the present invention are thought to reduce air friction losses in the port and to reduce cross-flow turbulence in the port yielding a more responsive speaker with more uniform aerodynamic drag on the driver diaphragm.

  • Patent number: 6242689
Abstract: An improved cable for audio applications having multiple, interlaced, counter-rotating conductors in a twin helical pattern is disclosed. Preferred embodiments of the present invention include a first set of conductors configured into longitudinally offset, co-axial helices along with a second set of conductors configured into a substantially parallel group of longitudinally offset, co-axial helices which are interlaced with said first set of conductors such that, with each rotation of said helices, a conductor from the first set of helices overlaps and interlaces with a conductor from the second set of helices. The first and second sets of helices rotate in opposite directions to achieve proper interlacing engagement.
