  • Patent number: 11656083
Abstract: A robotic system is disclosed that uses autonomous tunnel navigation. The system includes a plurality of sensors (e.g., ranging, odometry) to measure a distance from the robotic system to a plurality of walls. Memory stores instructions and a processor is coupled to the memory and the plurality of sensors to execute the instructions. The instructions cause the robotic system to detect movement of the robotic system through a surrounding environment based on sensor measurements, determine if the robotic system is in a tunnel based on the sensor measurements, and navigate with the odometry-based sensor when the robotic system is determined to be in the tunnel or the ranging sensor when the robotic system is determined to be not in the tunnel.

  • Patent number: 11494641
Abstract: A system and method of teaching a neural network through reinforcement learning methodology. The system includes a machine-readable medium having one or more processors that perform a motion task to produce a first result corresponding to navigating a device during a first episode and performing an interaction task during that same episode. After completion of the first episode a processor calculates a Q value change based on the first task result and the second task result. The processor then modifies parameters based on the Q value change such that during subsequent episode iterations the motion task and interactive task are improved and a smooth and continuous transition occurs between these two tasks.

  • Publication number: 20150258302
Abstract: A personal and wearable device includes a strap, which is worn by the user, and a remote controller, which is held by a guardian or a teacher. The strap includes a built-in heart rate monitor, a built-in accelerometer and a built-in vibration motor, wherein the heart rate monitor and accelerometer are used to determine the current state of the child in real time. The accelerometer is used to monitor any sudden or repeated actions of the arms or limbs of the user in order to determine whether the user is undergoing an outburst based off the magnitude of the measured acceleration in the arm; and the vibration motor may generate vibrations, which are adjustable in strength via the remote controller. The device is compact in size and convenient to carry, and thus provides a realistic solution for the integration of autistic persons into mainstream schools, etc.

  • Patent number: 8719839
Abstract: A computer system may comprise a computer platform and input-output devices. The computer platform may include a plurality of heterogeneous processors comprising a central processing unit (CPU) and a graphics processing unit) GPU, for example. The GPU may be coupled to a GPU compiler and a GPU linker/loader and the CPU may be coupled to a CPU compiler and a CPU linker/loader. The user may create a shared object in an object oriented language and the shared object may include virtual functions. The shared object may be fine grain partitioned between the heterogeneous processors. The GPU compiler may allocate the shared object to the CPU and may create a first and a second enabling path to allow the GPU to invoke virtual functions of the shared object. Thus, the shared object that may include virtual functions may be shared seamlessly between the CPU and the GPU.

  • Publication number: 20060108976
Abstract: A non-contact charging device includes a charging seat and a receiving end. The invention is characterized that, the charging seat is disposed with an active coil and a power circuit therein; and the receiving end is provided with an inductive coil, a conversion circuit and an electric cell at an interior thereof. Using the aforesaid structures, electric power is transmitted from the charging seat to the receiving end using electromagnetic induction by approaching the active coil with the inductive coil. Without requiring a design of connecting terminals, terminal damages and poor contact are prevented to reduce production cost.
