Abstract: The present invention is directed to an improved process for the direct preparation of polyurethane powders in a finely divided form by the reaction of polyisocyanates and isocyanate reactive compounds in a carrier phase, using interface active compounds, the improvement wherein the interface active compound used consists of at least one polymer of a urethane of (i) a long chain alkyl isocyanate and (ii) a hydroxyalkyl-acrylic or -metacrylic acid ester.

Abstract: Laminated polarizers are described comprising a polarizing core layer and adhesive layers on one or both sides, each of which can accept a transparent outer layer, the polarizer being a polymer product containing polyacetylene, whose matrix is a polymer having polar groups, and as adhesive layers, in addition to conventional adhesives, such as epoxy resins or acrylic polymers, thermoplastic polyurethane-polyureas are used in particular, having a predominantly linear molecular structure with urethane segments and urea segments bonded exclusively aliphatically or cycloaliphatically.

Abstract: Novel laminates comprise transparent polymers with a high content of hydroxyl groups as core layer and adhesive layers applied to one or both sides which are tack-free under normal conditions and which can accept an outer layer, thermoplastic polyurethane-polyureas having a substantially linear molecular structure with exclusively aliphatically or cycloaliphatically bonded urethane segments and urea segments and a content of urea groups --NH--CO--NH-- of 1 to 20% by weight and a content of carboxyl groups --COOH bonded directly to the main chain of the molecule in lateral positions, of 0.001 to 10% by weight, being used as adhesive layers.

Abstract: The present invention relates to isocyanto-acylurethanes corresponding to Formula I ##STR1## wherein R has a valency of m+n and is a hydrocarbon group,R' is a hydrocarbon group andm and n may be identical or different, and each have a value of 1 or 2.The present invention also relates to a process for preparation of these isocyanato-acylurethanes which comprises reacting isocyanato-carboxylic acid chlorides with carbamic acid esters. Finally, the present invention is directed to the use of these isocyanato-acylurethanes as intermediate products for the production of thermally cross-linkable synthetic resins or synthetic resin precursors and also as intermediate products for the preparation of cross-linking agents for synthetic resins.
