Abstract: The present invention relates to typically homogeneous gel-like cellulose-based fiber products which do not contain hemicellulose but may nevertheless contain lignin. The invention relates also to a method for the production of such fibrous products, in which microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) is mixed into oil or water to form a fiber mixture, and is degraded into homogeneous form by mechanical treatment.

Abstract: A machine relating to papermaking is located at a production plant (100), which is equipped with a plant data system (155). A teleservice connection (189) based on a data communication link is arranged between the production plant (100) and a teleservice center (200). The condition, state and/or performance of the machine units and/or processes and/or automation systems of the production line at the production plant are monitored by monitoring systems, such as condition monitoring systems (130) and/or performance measuring systems (140) and/or quality assessment systems (150) and diagnostic units (110), in order to recognize emergency situations. An automatic service process is started in an emergency situation based on the signals given by the monitoring systems. The system includes means for bringing about the automatic service process.

Abstract: A papermaking machine unit has a measurement system which provides performance data. The machine supplier sells maintenance and process support services at a price determined by the level of performance of the machine within a given time period. The supplier and the customer agree on a desired performance level, and the charge to the customer is set at a fixed price plus a variable price based on performance level. The amount paid to the supplier will be greater than the fixed price if performance is greater than the desired level, and will be less than the fixed price if performance is less than the desired level.

Abstract: In a papermaking process, filtering of white water containing fiber material is performed by feeding the white water to a filter on a surface of which a layer of auxiliary pulp has been formed, such that the white water is filtered through the layer of auxiliary pulp and fiber material in the white water remains in the layer of auxiliary pulp. The mixture of auxiliary pulp and fiber material is removed from the filter and is fed to a fractionating screen. The screen separates the mixture into a short-fibered pulp fraction that can be returned to the papermaking process, and a long-fibered pulp fraction that is returned to the filter where it is used as auxiliary pulp to form a layer on the filter surface.

Abstract: A process arrangement for the short circulation in a paper or board machine including stock chests for component stocks, metering pumps for component stocks, cleaning devices, pumps, a headbox and a wire section as well as a system of pipes connecting these elements, together with regulation devices. After the metering pumps, the component stock flows are passed into a closed mixing volume in which the component stocks are mixed and diluted with a first dilution water flow. From this closed mixing volume, the stock is passed in a closed space by a first feed pump of the main line of the process through a screen and a centrifugal cleaner to the suction side of a second feed pump of the main line, where a second dilution water flow is passed to the stock. The second feed pump feeds the stock through a machine screen to the inlet header in the headbox.
