  • Patent number: 7257378
Abstract: The invention relates to a testing device and a software. The cellular radio system comprises a testing device which is a fixed part of the cellular radio system and operationally connected to a data network. The testing device has a connection over radio path to one or more base stations, and the operational condition of the cellular radio system is examined by means of the testing device by utilising the radio connection of the testing device to at least one base station. In addition, the data network is utilized.

  • Patent number: 6907249
Abstract: A method for performing channel configuration of a base station in a cellular radio network, and a network element of the cellular radio network employing the method. In the method, the base station is directed by a controller controlling the base station to transmit a logical control channel on at least one physical channel allowed for the cellular radio network, a fixed receiver box is directed to receive the physical channel transmitted by the base station and to measure at least one channel parameter representing the properties of said physical channel, a measurement report on measurements made by the receiver box is transmitted to the controller, the controller selects on the basis of at least one measurement report at least one physical channel enabling good range, the base station is directed to use at least one physical channel enabling good range.

  • Patent number: 6799023
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of automatic gain control (AGC) in a base station of a cellular radio network and to a network part in a cellular radio network. The method comprises receiving at least one random access burst transmitted by a subscriber terminal of the cellular radio network on a random access channel. Then the received power of the random access burst is measured, followed by generating subscriber terminal-specific AGC data on the basis of the received power of at least one random access burst. Then, subscriber terminal-specific AGC data is stored. Next, a normal burst transmitted by the subscriber terminal on a stand-alone dedicated control channel is received, and the gain of the normal burst received is controlled by the subscriber terminal-specific AGC data. Finally, the controlled normal burst is subjected to analog-to-digital conversion.

  • Patent number: 6552558
Abstract: The invention relates to a method comprising supplying a test signal to a first pad part of the pad; measuring the occurrence of the test signal through a second pad part of the pad or a part of the printed circuit board connected to the second pad part, which second pad part is separate from the first pad part, and the leg of the connector is fastened both to the first pad part and to the second pad part during the manufacturing process in order to establish a connection between the pad parts through the leg. The invention further relates to a printed circuit board.
