  • Patent number: 6981612
Abstract: A pin valve assembly includes a spring biasing a piston against a seal to seal an opening of a gas cylinder. The spring compresses a length determined by a distance between the insert and the plunger. The insert is pressed into an opening opposite the plunger and held in place by at least one barb extending inward from an inner diameter of a body of the insert. The insert includes an opening to allow communication of gas pressure to a rear portion of the piston. The inner diameter of the pin valve assembly includes at least one barb to secure and prevent removal of the insert.

  • Patent number: 6955182
Abstract: A relief valve includes an outlet and a cavity with a barb formed on an inner surface. An insert pressed into the cavity includes an inlet in communication with the contents of a pressurized container. A frangible member is trapped within the cavity by the insert and separates the inlet and outlet. The insert defines an area of pressure acting on the frangible member from the pressurized container. The frangible member bursts in response to a desired pressure within the pressurized container. The insert is fabricated from a plastic material with a high resistance to plastic deformation. The insert is held within the cavity by a plurality of barbs that prevent removal. Removal of the insert is only possible by destroying the insert, thereby evidencing modification.

  • Patent number: 6813819
Abstract: A cylinder includes a substantially uniform wall thickness and a single potential leak point. A single uniform sheet of material is formed into the cylinder and includes a closed end and an open end. The open end includes a plurality of threads formed adjacent the open end having an interference fit with an adapter. The adapter is heated to a temperature greater than the cylinder to expand the adapter to a size allowing installation onto the threads of the cylinder. The adapter and cylinder are cooled and the threads of the adapter contract to tightly fit onto the threads of the cylinder and prevent removal of the adapter. The only potential leak point is then through the valve or other device receiving the contents of the cylinder.
