  • Publication number: 20160324159
Abstract: Disclosed is a composition containing an ester compound represented by formula (1), which composition is electrostatically sprayed to pests or to a place where the pests inhabit.
    Type: Application
    Filed: July 21, 2016
    Publication date: November 10, 2016
    Applicant: SUMITOMO CHEMICAL COMPANY, LIMITED
Inventors: Akiko HARADA, Yoshito TANAKA, Timothy C. HADINGHAM
  • Patent number: 9044002
Abstract: A method of the present invention, for controlling a harmful arthropod employs an ester compound which has a specific structure. Accordingly, with the method of the present invention, it is possible to control a wide variety of harmful arthropods effectively, without carrying out any heating process (e.g., a smoking process) for spraying the composition or any pressure process (e.g., a gas-pressure process or a mechanical pressure process) for spraying the compositions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 10, 2012
Date of Patent: June 2, 2015
    Assignee: SUMITOMO CHEMICAL COMPANY, LIMITED
Inventors: Takahisa Hirayama, Timothy C Hadingham
  • Patent number: 8967491
Abstract: According to the present invention, an arbitrary active constituent is sprayed stably so as to treat a target space. A method of the present invention, for treating a target space, includes the step of spraying, in the target space, a composition in an effective amount, the composition containing (i) a solvent and (ii) an electrolyte having a pK of not less than ?10 but not more than 7, which pK is a dissociation constant with respect to water, the composition being sprayed as liquid particles in a mist form, which liquid particle have (I) an average particle diameter of not less than 100 nm but not more than 10 ?m and (II) an average charge number of not less than +40 but not more than +40000.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 5, 2011
Date of Patent: March 3, 2015
    Assignee: Sumitomo Chemical Company, Limited
Inventors: Ellyana Njatawidjaja, Timothy C Hadingham

  • Publication number: 20130183261
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and a spray composition for delivering an active ingredient into air. The spray composition comprises a carrier composition containing a glycol ether having a structure represented by the following General Formula: R1O—[CH2CH(CH3)O]n-H (R1 is C1-C4 alkyl, n is 2 or 3 (when n is 2, R1 is not methyl)), and an active ingredient mixed with the carrier composition, wherein the carrier composition has a vapour pressure of less than 14 Pa at 20° C. The method comprises the step of spraying the spray composition into air, and, optionally, the step of preparing a spray composition by mixing the active ingredient with the carrier composition.
