  • Patent number: 11966046
Abstract: A waveguide arranged as a pupil expander for a display system is disclosed. The waveguide comprises a pair of opposing surfaces arranged to guide a light field therebetween by internal reflection. An input port is arranged to receive light from the display system. A reflective element is arranged to internally reflect the light field. The input port and reflective element are formed on a second surface of the pair of opposing surfaces. An output port is formed on a first surface of the pair of opposing surfaces by a transmissive-reflective element configured to divide the light field at each internal reflection therefrom such that a plurality of replicas of the light field are transmitted out of the waveguide through the output port.

  • Publication number: 20050261609
Abstract: A method, apparatus and system for communicating to a remote location a representation of a physical condition caused by a foot. The method involves communicating to a transmitter unit at least partially held within a cavity in a foot support operable to be inserted into footwear, a condition signal representing the physical condition sensed by a condition sensor; and transmitting from the transmitter unit a radio frequency (RF) signal representing the condition signal, for reception by a receiver unit spaced apart from the transmitter unit. An apparatus and system using the method are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6291755
Abstract: A tuner for stringed musical instruments which have a pickup for converting sound vibrations of the strings to electrical signals and a body being either hollow or solid with a front and back surface and a side surface extending between the front and back surface. The tuner has a tuner circuit attachable to an interior of the sound box with an input couplable to an output of the pickup and a digital display which displays a reference note closest to the note being played, a graphically intuitive indication of whether the note being played is above, equal to or below the reference note and a qualitative measure of the amount of deviation from the reference note. The tuner circuit automatically determines a closest note to the note being played and displays alphabetically the closest note.

  • Patent number: 5877444
Abstract: A tuner for stringed musical instruments which has a transducer pickup for converting sound vibrations of the strings to electrical signals and a body being either hollow or solid with a front and back surface and a edge surface extending between the front and back surface. The tuner has a tuner circuit attachable to an interior of the sound box with an input couplable to an output of the transducer and a digital display positionable on one of the edge or front surfaces of the body so that it faces a player when the instrument is in a playing position.
