    Abstract: A method and apparatus for quickly capturing photographic images with one hand. The apparatus includes a wearable ring, camera, electronics, and a charging base. The ring may be configured to be worn on the right or left index finger (or any other digit including any toe), aligning the camera over the phalanx bone. The ring may incorporate electronic sensors on the surfaces or other location to detect the forming of a fist to enable image capture, and the touching of the thumb or other digit or body part to capture images. Electronics support inductive charging using the charging base, as well as image capture, storage, and transfer to a smart phone for later processing.

    Abstract: A system and method for tactile sensing using thin film optical sensing networks is disclosed. A sensing network includes an array of optical pathways arranged in a flexible material. Each optical pathway has an input at a first end and an output at a second end. A light source is coupled to the input of each respective associated optical pathway. Each light source directs a light signal having a first predetermined frequency and characteristic into the associated optical pathway. A light detector is coupled to the output of each respective associated optical pathway. Each light detector receives a light signal from the associated optical pathway and generates an output signal corresponding to the magnitude of the received light signal at a second predetermined frequency. A processor receives the output signals from each light detector and determines an amount of pressure applied to the sensing network based on the received signals.

    Abstract: A gyro isolation assembly (10) is provided including a cradle (24) having a base (26) and a plurality of reinforcement wall portions extending therefrom (28, 30). A first bracket (50) is provided for supporting a first end of the cradle (24) in a suspended manner and a second bracket (50) is provided for supporting a second end of the cradle (24) in a symmetrical suspended manner. The center of the cradle assembly is attached to the mounting surface, forming the primary fixed attach point (43). Each end is then attached to the surface via the brackets (50) that allow compliance in one direction, but are stiff in the other two directions. A mounting structure (12) is provided for supporting a gyro therein. The mounting structure is suspended between the reinforcement wall portions (28) of the cradle (24). A plurality of isolators (34) are disposed between the mounting structure (12) and the cradle (24).
