  • Patent number: 7633364
Abstract: A dampening apparatus has a housing with a plurality of first guide members and a plurality of second guide members coupled together. A first biasing member is located in an area proximate to the first guide members and within the housing. A first planar member is provided having a plurality of first apertures with the first guide members or the second guide members passing through the first apertures. A plurality of second planar members is provided having a plurality of second apertures with the second guide members passing through the second apertures. A plurality of second biasing members is located in an area proximate to the second guide members. An elongated shaft is coupled to the first planar member. The dampening apparatus could be included in a circuit interrupter.

  • Patent number: 7473116
Abstract: A maintenance-free electrical bus assembly is provided for a switchgear cabinet. The maintenance-free electrical bus assembly is coupled to a switchgear device in the cabinet, and includes electrical bus members, at least one bus joint comprising an electrical connection of two or more electrical bus members, and a fastener assembly fastening the bus joint and maintaining the electrical connection between the electrical bus members thereof. The fastener assembly includes at least one first fastening element having a plurality of first threads, and at least one second fastening element having a plurality of second threads. The second threads threadably engage the first threads of a corresponding first fastening element, in order to perpetually secure the first threads and the corresponding first fastening element, and to resist undesirable loosening of the bus joint once the fastener assembly has been fastened. Thus, inaccessible bus joints within the cabinet do not need to be inspected.

  • Patent number: 5594610
Abstract: A circuit interruption apparatus for a power circuit having a power source and a load includes a termination mechanism for interconnection with the power source and the load; a circuit interrupter having a line terminal and a load terminal for interrupting the power circuit between the power source and the load; and a pivot mechanism for pivoting the circuit interrupter between a first position wherein the line terminal and the load terminal are interconnected with the termination mechanism, and a second position wherein one of the line terminal and the load terminal is disconnected from the termination mechanism. Alternatively, a circuit interruption apparatus for the power circuit may include a line termination mechanism for interconnection with the power source; a circuit interrupter having a line terminal and a load termination mechanism for interconnection with the load; and a pivot mechanism for pivoting the circuit interrupter between the first position and the second position.

  • Patent number: 4814942
Abstract: A drawout switchgear apparatus is characterized by a cell having a front opening through which a circuit breaker is movable on tracks into and out of the cell for engagement and disengagement with electrical terminals within the cell. A cell frame includes formed columns at outside corners members, cross-strut members, and formed horizontal members which members are of similar cross-section of a substantially U-shape with U-legs and a bight and with a laterally extending flange. Each member converges to form junction corners where they are fastened together. A track extension and interlock cooperate to facilitate removal and retention of the unit into and out of the cell.
