  • Patent number: 8622883
Abstract: A method of making a customizable gift box includes the step of providing a box blank including a box bottom and a plurality of sidewalls having adjacent lateral edges. Appendages are positioned to overlap and join the adjacent lateral edges of the adjacent sidewalls. Each appendage includes a first relatively narrow edge, a second relatively wider opposing edge, and S-shaped side edges joining the first and second edges. The configuration of the appendages facilitates their removal from a label assembly that includes a face sheet and a back sheet, the face sheet including a removable carrier portion, a removable label, and the removable appendages in the carrier sheet. Once the sidewalls of the box blank are properly anchored using the appendages, the label assembly can be aligned and the label can be adhered to the box blank.

  • Patent number: 8555943
Abstract: A method and software for a consumer end user to print one or more, but generally less than all, labels of a label assembly without the need to run the label assembly though a printer multiple times. A boundary corresponding to the label is printed on a separate paper sheet to allow the label to be positioned for printing. The paper sheet with the label adhered within the boundary is run through a printer to print on the label. The printed label is removed from the paper sheet to applying to the intended object to be labeled. Software can be implemented on a data processor for printing the boundary and/or coordinating the label printing with the printed boundary.

  • Publication number: 20130241189
Abstract: An index label and a method for applying an index label to a sheet or folder. A label assembly includes labels in a column, and each of the labels includes a fold line. A registration structure is adjacent the label column. Each label can be partially folded into a raised position, and the item to be label placed adjacent the raided portions, such as using the registration structure to align the item. The raised portion is lowered and adhered to the item. The remainder of the label is then removed from the label assembly and folded to adhere to itself and/or the item to form an index label on the item.

  • Publication number: 20130240134
Abstract: A self-adhesive label for application to an object as a hang tab, without the need for a separate application device. The label includes a printable surface, a fold line dividing the label into two portions, and two matching hanger opening shapes, one on each of the two label portions. The matching hanger openings are reversely positioned with respect to each other to provide corresponding alignment upon folding the label about the object to align the matching hanger opening shapes to form a hanger opening. The label is particularly suited for use with retail product packaging used in hanging retail displays.

  • Patent number: 8533984
Abstract: A display apparatus that can be positioned within a file cabinet, a file drawer, a hanging file and/or any other suitable file index system. A container is formed by the sheet material. The container has an edge panel forming at least one releasable tab. The at least one releasable tab includes a flap extending from the tab. The flap allows for engaging the corresponding tab, and each tab can be released or positioned away from an outer surface of the edge panel. A label sheet or label assembly has printable labels and at least one identification label. The identification label has or displays an identifier that corresponds to a particular design parameter of the label sheet. The identification label can be attached to the tab. The container can house one or more label sheets.

  • Patent number: 8419070
Abstract: A label assembly that includes a face sheet with a label shape defined by one or more tearable lines of separation, a back sheet adjacent to the face sheet, and an adhesive material disposed between the face sheet and the back sheet. The back sheet has a removable panel disposed over the label shape adhesive material and a registration tab aligned with the label shape. The registration tab includes a portion disposed over a removable shape within the label shape. The registration tab is raisable above the back sheet surface and the removable shape adheres to the registration tab while being raised, thereby removing the removable shape from the label shape.

  • Publication number: 20130075439
Abstract: A label assembly including a face sheet, a back sheet, and a layer of an adhesive positioned between the face sheet and the back sheet. A separation line divides the label assembly into at least two portions. The separation line is formed by a first tearable line of separation extending across the back sheet and a second tearable line of separation extending across the face sheet. The first tearable line of separation is offset with respect to the second tearable line of separation, and at least one of the first and second tearable lines of separation includes a non-linear portion directed toward and/or an angled portion extending at an angle to an other of the at least one of the first and second tearable lines of separation.
