  • Patent number: 8749620
Abstract: A 3D stereo image of a scene is generated by generating first image data of the scene using light field data representing light rays from a first direction, and second image data of the scene using light field data representing light rays from a second direction. The 3D stereo image of the scene is then generated using the first image data and the second image data. A microlens array may be used to direct light rays onto a photosensor array, wherein each microlens of the microlens array includes a physical aperture which correlates to a plurality of associated photosensors, a first virtual aperture which correlates to a first subset of the associated photosensors, and a second virtual aperture which correlates to a second subset of the associated photosensors. Each virtual aperture thus provides light rays from a different direction for use in generating the 3D stereo image.

  • Patent number: 8289440
Abstract: A light field data acquisition device includes optics and a sensor to acquire light field image data of a scene. In at least one embodiment, the sensor is located at a substantially fixed, predetermined location relative to the focal point of the optics. The device determines a first virtual focus depth different from an optical focus depth of the light field image data, and automatically generates and outputs data representative of a first image of the scene at the first virtual focus depth. In response to user input, the device determines a second virtual focus depth and generates data representative of a second image of the scene at the second virtual focus depth.

  • Patent number: 7860960
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for monitoring a variable of concern across multiple dynamic instances of a MIB object. The collection mechanism is associated with an interface that receives the executable command. The executable command is in an encoded format identifying one or more objects the collection mechanism is responsible for. This avoids the need to send multiple executable commands to a network device in order to monitor and evaluate the values of multiple variables across multiple MIB object instances.

  • Publication number: 20100265385
Abstract: Certain devices and methods are directed to acquiring, generating and/or outputting image data corresponding to a scene. In one aspect, the method comprises (i) acquiring light field data which is representative of a light field from the scene, (ii) acquiring configuration data which is representative of how light rays optically propagate through the data acquisition device (used to acquire the light field data), (iii) generating first image data using the light field data and the configuration data, wherein the first image data includes a focus or focus depth that is different from a focus or focus depth of the light field data, (iv) generating a first electronic data file including (a) the first image data, (b) the light field data, and (c) the configuration data, and (v) outputting the first electronic data file.

  • Patent number: 7577101
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for performing health check requests on one or more network devices or network resources. The method and apparatus provide a build tool for building a health check request having an extensible data format adaptable to a protocol supported by the network device or network resource of concern. The health check request can be built using data captured from a unit of network traffic on a transmission medium or with data provided via a user interface, or a combination of both. A health check request built using the method or apparatus can support any protocol including proprietary protocols avoiding the need for a requestor to learn a protocol format in order to build a health check request checking an operational characteristic of a network device or network resource. The method and apparatus allow this to be accomplished using data captured from a successful transaction.

  • Publication number: 20090183239
Abstract: A single management facility in a virtualized system that facilitates the presentation of either a virtual element view or system view to a network management user depending upon the user's access rights is disclosed. The user interface presented to the user is modified based on the scope and type of access rights. The scope and type of access privileges afforded to the user of the virtualized system is found in a profile object that indicates the scope and type of user access established during the user login. The profile object is stored in an environment object that is created for each user at login. Each virtualized element in the system includes management information that is associated with the virtual element via a virtual identifier. The management information indicates the level of the user access privileges necessary to view the associated virtual element.

  • Patent number: 7546631

The view presented to the user is modified based on the scope and type of access rights, which are found in a profile object, that is stored in an environmental object, established during the user login. Each virtualized element in the system includes management information that is associated with the virtual element via a virtual identifier. The management information indicates the level of the user access rights necessary to view the associated virtual element. Requests by a user to access management information associated with a virtual element are analyzed to determine if the access rights specified in the user profile enable the user to access the information associated with the virtual element.
