  • Patent number: 9087380
Abstract: A method and system for creating event data including 3-D data representing at least one participant in an event and making the event data available to be served is provided. The system includes a communications network. A plurality of camera units are coupled to the communications network. The camera units are configured and installed at an event venue to generate a plurality of images from waves which propagate from objects in the event and includes the at least one participant in a plurality of non-parallel detector planes spaced about the event venue. The camera units include a plurality of detectors for measuring energy in the images in the detector planes to produce a plurality of signals obtained from different directions with respect to the at least one participant and a plurality of signal processors to process the plurality of signals from the plurality of detectors with at least one control algorithm to obtain image data.

  • Patent number: 8328653
Abstract: A system and method for detecting object location and movement utilizes a first viewing area (40) observed by a first camera (42) cooperating with a light (43) and a second camera (44) cooperating with a light (45). A third camera (46) can be added to observe a second viewing area (47) encompassing the first viewing area (40). The first camera (42) acquires images at time spaced points (51) and (53) along a first trajectory line (55). The second camera (44) acquires images at time spaced points (52) and (54) along a second trajectory line (56). This information is combined to generate the 3-D trajectory line (50) of the object.

  • Patent number: 5631456
Abstract: A device for controlling reflections off of and information-bearing surface is especially suitable for use in conjunction with shiny, curved surfaces containing machine-readable markings. The device includes a chamber having an interior wall and entrance and exit apertures, the entrance aperture being associated with receiving an image of the surface, and the exit aperture being associated with delivering the image of the surface to image sensing means. As the delivered image of the surface may potentially include reflections of the interior wall and exit aperture, means are provided for equalizing these reflections to minimize problems associated with sensing the image of the surface and decoding any information present.
