Patent number: 11340668Abstract: A connection scheme for LED display array is disclosed. The array includes a plurality of LED modules having LEDs on the front surface and a rear surface having connection points optionally surrounded by a compressible weather seal. The connection points of the LED module electrically connect to a power bus for receiving both power and data. Alternatively, power and data signals may be provided separately through separate means. When the LED modules are attached to a support structure for the display array, the connection points electrically connect with the bus or buses. Mechanical locking features may be used to create a compressing force to facilitate the electrical connection or interface between the LED module connection points and the bus or buses.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2020Date of Patent: May 24, 2022Assignee: ANTHEM DISPLAYS, LLCInventors: Evan D. Brooks, Timothy J. VanderMey

Patent number: 8483313Abstract: A transmission suppression apparatus includes a first modulator that converts a symbol to a waveform. The apparatus further includes a first non-linear filter, configured to at least partially compensate for non-linear distortions of a transmission signal path. The apparatus further includes a first medium coupling device for coupling signals to a communication medium. The apparatus further includes a second medium coupling device for coupling signals from the communication medium. The apparatus further includes summing circuitry with a first input connected to an output of the second medium coupling device. The apparatus further includes cancellation circuitry, connected to a second input of the summing circuit, that converts the symbol to an analog waveform that is substantially 180 degrees out of phase with the analog waveform encoding the symbol on the first input to the summing circuit.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2009Date of Patent: July 9, 2013Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Lawrence W. Yonge, III, Arun Avudainayagam, Timothy J. Vandermey

Patent number: 8054901Abstract: A method for generating a signal is presented. The method includes selecting a first set of carrier frequencies that are integral multiples of a first frequency interval, and selecting a second set of carrier frequencies that are integral multiples of a second frequency interval. The second frequency interval is an integral multiple of the first frequency interval and the second set is a subset of the first set. The method includes, for each of one or more signal carrier frequencies in the second set, selecting a plurality of associated carrier frequencies in the first set including a peak carrier frequency having substantially the same value as the signal carrier frequency, and modulating waveform frequency components at each of the selected plurality of associated carrier frequencies according to the same data value.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 2009Date of Patent: November 8, 2011Assignee: Qualcomm Atheros, Inc.Inventors: Lawrence W. Yonge, III, Timothy J. Vandermey

Patent number: 7894487Abstract: A method and corresponding system for communicating between stations in a network is presented. The method includes providing repeated beacon transmissions from a coordinator station for coordinating transmissions among the stations; transmitting a signal from a first station and receiving the signal at a second station; and performing one or both of: generating the signal based on a local clock at the first station and time adjustment information in a beacon transmission received by the first station, and sampling the signal at sample times based on a local clock at the second station and time adjustment information in a beacon transmission received by the second station.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2009Date of Patent: February 22, 2011Assignees: Sharp Corporation, CopperGate Communications Ltd., Atheros Communications, Inc.Inventors: Lawrence W. Yonge, III, Srinivas Katar, Timothy J. Vandermey, James E. Petranovich, Neal K. Riedel, George M. Peponides, Sherman Leon Gavette

Patent number: 7688904Abstract: A method and system for transmitting signals between communication nodes is presented. The method includes generating a first waveform that includes a shaped portion; generating a second waveform that includes a shaped portion; and combining the first and second waveforms including overlapping the shaped portion of the first waveform with the shaped portion of the second waveform and adding the overlapped portions of the waveforms. The method includes generating a signal including the combined first and second waveforms. At least one of the first and second waveforms includes a characteristic signature configured for synchronizing with the signal.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2006Date of Patent: March 30, 2010Assignee: Intellon CorporationInventors: Lawrence W.
