Abstract: An apparatus for orientating a rod-shaped smoking article (2) containing a metal component (4) such as a susceptor is disclosed. The apparatus comprises means (24) for producing a magnetic field and means (22) for presenting a rod-shaped smoking article (2) to the magnetic field in a manner which allows rotation of the rod-shaped article. This can allow the article to be rotated such that it is in a known orientation for subsequent testing.

Abstract: A wall-mountable material dispensing system includes a material dispenser having a back wall, a bottom surface, a first element of an engagement component, and a self-alignment receiver, and a mounting bracket. The mounting bracket includes a baseplate having a generally planar wall-facing surface and an opposite outward-facing surface, a self-alignment protrusion extending from the outward-facing surface, wherein the self-alignment receiver is sized to at least partially receive the self-alignment protrusion. The mounting bracket also includes a second element of the engagement component configured to engage with the first element of the engagement component, wherein the second element of the engagement component is disposed on or in the outward-facing surface, a support member extending from or adjacent to the outward-facing surface, and a wall-mounting mechanism disposed on or adjacent to the wall-facing surface.

Abstract: A lid structure for use with a container for storing personal care products is disclosed. The lid structure includes a lid-activation button that when pressed allows the lid top to rotate about the lid base giving a consumer access to the contents of the container. Additionally, the lid-activation button functions so that the lid top is released independent of where the lid-activation button is pressed by the consumer. To create better and more consistent opening of the lid top portion, an inner longitudinal edge of the lid-activation button may be attached to the lid bottom via a living hinge that is formed integrally with the lid base. A strengthening rib is attached to the living hinge that keeps the main body side of the living hinge immobile and encourages the button side of the living hinge to flex when the lid-activation button is depressed.

Abstract: A smoking machine is disclosed for the automatic smoking of a smoking article. The smoking machine (10) includes a flexible seal (30) for occluding holes (40) in the smoking article (28) while the smoking article is smoked. This can allow “intensive” smoking tests to be carried out by occluding filter holes (40) in the smoking article.
