  • Patent number: 8322950
Abstract: A cable bolt (10, 60) comprising a flexible cable (11) formed from a plurality of wound strands, wherein at least one of the strands is a hollow strand (12b). In one form, at least one region (14) of the hollow strand is formed with a helical formation or is otherwise arranged to resist radial compression. A cable bolt (60) is also disclosed with a hollow strand (12b) that has a coupling (65) fitted at one end (14) and a resin retainer (61) fitted on the other end of the hollow strand.

  • Patent number: 8033760
Abstract: A tensioning assembly 10 for a cable bolt 11 comprises a clamping device (14, 16) adapted for fastening to the bolt and an outer member 18 adapted for interacting with the clamping device. The outer member 18 is able to undergo relative movement to the clamping device in the direction of the bolt's axis, and under such movement, the clamping device is caused to fasten to the bolt. Furthermore, the outer member is adapted for interacting with the bolt 11 whereby, during such relative movement, twisting of the bolt 11 with respect to the outer member 18 is restrained.

  • Patent number: 7927044
Abstract: A tensioning assembly 10 for a cable bolt having a flexible shaft 12 comprises a clamping device 14, 16 configured to mount to the bolt shaft 12 with an axis (CA) of the clamping device aligned with the shaft axis (SA); and an outer member located over, and engaged with, the clamping device 14, 16. The outer member 18 is arranged, under a predetermined movement of the outer member, to impart drive to the clamping device 14, 16 to bias the clamping device 14, 16 to move in the direction of the clamping device axis. A cable bolt and method of tensioning a cable bolt is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20100266345
Abstract: An engagement head for a rock bolt tensioning assembly is disclosed that is profiled to include at least one key surface to inhibit rotation of the engagement head relative to a rock surface, either by direct engagement with the rock surface or through abutment with a plate-like member that is engageable with the rock surface.
