    Abstract: The invention provides a process for the production of a pressure sensitive adhesive, comprising dissolving a particulate solid MQ silicone resin having a bulk density in the range 0.4-0.9 g/cm3 in a volatile solvent, and dissolving a polydiorganosiloxane having a viscosity of 0.1 to 40,000 Pa·s at 25° C. in the volatile solvent before, simultaneously with or after dissolving the solid MQ silicone resin. The process of the present invention allows the production of a pressure sensitive adhesive in a solvent different from the solvent in which the MQ silicone resin was prepared.

    Abstract: A photovoltaic (PV) cell comprises a base substrate which comprises silicon and includes at least one doped region. The PV cell further comprises a collector disposed on the doped region of the base substrate and having a lower portion in physical contact with the doped region of the base substrate, and an upper portion opposite the lower portion. The PV cell further comprises an electrically conductive layer which is electrically isotropic or anisotropic and disposed adjacent the collector. The electrically conductive layer is in electrical communication with the base substrate via the collector. The electrically conductive layer comprises a binder and electrically conductive particles comprising at least one metal selected from the group consisting of Group 8 through Group 14 metals of the Periodic Table of Elements. The electrically conductive particles impart isotropic or anisotropic electrical conductivity to the electrically conductive layer.

    Abstract: A process for preparing silicone emulsions is disclosed based on using an ethylene oxide/propylene oxide block copolymer as the emulsifier. The silicone emulsions comprise: A) 0.5 wt % to 95 wt % of a silicone resin or pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA), B) 0.1 to 90 wt % of a ethylene oxide/propylene oxide block copolymer, and sufficient amount of water to sum to 100 weight percent. The present disclosure further relates to a process for making a silicone resin emulsion comprising: I) forming a dispersion of; A) 100 parts of a silicone resin or PSA, B) 5 to 100 parts of a ethylene oxide/propylene oxide block copolymer, II) admixing a sufficient amount of water to the dispersion from step I) to form an emulsion, III) optionally, further shear mixing the emulsion.
