  • Publication number: 20020128090
Abstract: An improved vertically-curved strike face for a golf putter, the roll radius for which is determined based on the given strike face height and loft selected, wherein, regardless of a given golfer's putting stroke style, and of variations within that stroke style, the improved curved strike face as determined permits consistently impacting the golf ball in a critical true roll zone just slightly below the equator. Custom-fitting, to accommodate a given golfer's extreme putting style, or a given course's daily Stimpmeter (trademark) reading, or green speed or mowed putting green conditions, can be achieved by selecting a given curved strike face loft and the resultant strike face roll radius. A basic form of the invention comprises a series of putters with different roll radii, for a given loft and strike face height.

  • Patent number: 6026748
Abstract: A printing press having a plurality of laterally spaced printing stations is provided with an interstation dryer system, interposed between the printing stations, for effectively drying liquid printing substances, such as inks, coatings, and the like, on a moving printed sheet. The dryer system includes a plurality of infrared elements which are adapted to transmit infrared radiation toward the moving printed sheet to effectuate drying of liquid printing substances thereon and bonding thereto. In order to effectively dry a complete spectrum of ink colors and other liquid printing substances, the infrared elements comprise an alternating and repetitive series of shortwave infrared lamps and mediumwave infrared lamps which generate relatively short wavelength infrared radiation and relatively medium wavelength infrared radiation, respectively.

  • Patent number: 5713285
Abstract: An apparatus and method of use for spraying powder on substrate which is particularly suited for use in conjunction with a printing press for automatically applying a fine powder onto printed sheets prior to delivery to a stacking station. The electrically controlled and motor driven apparatus comprises a pressurized air source, a powder hopper with a powder agitator contained therein, a brush unit which transfers powder from the powder hopper and, through the use of a flicker bar, mixes powder with air to create an air and powder mixture in a powder chamber. Pressurized air passing through a venturi upwardly vacuums this mixture and propels the air and powder mixture through a selectable series of pneumatic hoses to nozzles with an adjustable width of spray for spraying powder on printed sheets.

  • Patent number: 5078398
Abstract: An improved golf putter club is disclosed in which the club head, hosel, shaft and grip are so configured that the club's total weight is perfectly centered and balanced about the club's shaft axis, resulting in multi-directional stability, i.e., infinite balancing, against any static forces causing the putter club head to rotate off line about the shaft, grip, and hosel axis. Such rotational stability eliminates any inherent twisting forces of the putter head during use. An extremely high moment of inertia about the club head's center of gravity results from use of a relatively heavyweight material for the ball striking face, the club heel and toe ends, and the adjacent sole portions, while an insert formed of a relatively lightweight material is used to fill in the club head's central area where heavyweight material is absent. This high rotational moment of inertia assures that when a golf ball is hit off-center (i.e.
