  • Publication number: 20100119290
Abstract: A dispenser includes a moving assembly which includes an upper valve and a lower valve having a reservoir for containing a product. The upper valve having at least one aperture is coupled to the lower valve having at least one aperture. Furthermore, the lower valve and the upper valve are partially covered by a sleeve. The sleeve includes a shaped path. The upper valve and the lower valve being selectively guidable along the shaped path between an upward position for the dispenser to deliver the product and a downward position to store the dispenser.

  • Publication number: 20100119287
Abstract: A dispenser includes a flow-through compressible gasket and housing having a reservoir for containing a product. The flow-through compressible gasket has a at least one aperture to provide a product delivery passage when the dispenser is in an open position and to prevent leakage when the dispenser is in a closed position. In some examples, the flow-through compressible gasket may be made of a material having elastomeric properties. Thus, the compressible flow-through compressible gasket provides a seal for the dispenser.

  • Publication number: 20100054844
Abstract: A dispenser includes a flow-through gasket and a lower valve having a reservoir for containing a product. The flow-through gasket has at least aperture to provide a product delivery passage when the dispenser is selectively rotatable along a helical guide slot to a raised position. When the dispenser is selectively rotatable along the helical guide slot to a retracted position, the dispenser is in a stored state. In some examples, the flow-through gasket may be made of a material having elastomeric properties.

  • Publication number: 20090188517
Abstract: A sifting apparatus and container for storing and dispensing material, such as cosmetic powder are described. Two sifters are arranged so their holes are not aligned, and a resilient material is placed between the sifters to create a gap that allows powder to pass out from a storage cavity to a surface accessible by the user. In a second configuration, at least one of the sifters is displaced toward the other sifter to reduce or eliminate the gap, thus reducing or preventing the flow of material through the sifters.

  • Publication number: 20090188518
Abstract: Described herein are containers having a bottom portion, a bottom sifter, a dial sifter, and a removable cover having pins. A bottom sifter and a dial sifter are rotatably engaged, and both have at least one sifting hole for sifting materials with a powder-like consistency. Either the surface of the bottom sifter facing the dial sifter or the surface of the dial sifter facing the bottom sifter may have at least one raised portion, and the remaining surface may have at least one recessed depression. The dial sifter may have one or more cavities to engage the pins in the cover, thereby rotating the dial with the rotation of the cover.

  • Publication number: 20090162131
Abstract: A dispenser includes a cam path and a mating guide pin to provide a closed position or an open position for the dispenser. The dispenser is selectively rotatable causing the mating guide pin to travel along a cam path to rotate between slanted, unslanted, and slanted downward positions. The mating guide pin in the cam path causes the open position to allow product delivery and causes the closed position to provide a seal to prevent product leakage. In an implementation, the dispenser is selectively guidable along a helical guide slot to an upward position for product application and to a downward position to retract the applicator. When the dispenser is selectively rotatable along the helical guide slot to a retracted position, the dispenser is in a stored state.

  • Publication number: 20080264440
Abstract: A dispenser includes a housing having a reservoir for containing a product. The dispenser includes a flow-through gasket with a concave shape top having a plurality of apertures. The dispenser provides a product delivery passageway through the flow-through gasket when the dispenser is in an open position. The dispenser prevents leakage by providing a seal with the flow-through gasket when the dispenser is in a closed position. In some examples, the flow-through gasket with the concave shape top may be made of a material having elastomeric properties.

  • Publication number: 20080178903
Abstract: Containers are disclosed for holding and dispensing cosmetic products. Exemplary containers have a bottom portion, a first and second sifter, and a removable cover having a protrusion. The first sifter may have at least one sifting hole for sifting materials with a powder-like consistency. The second sifter may be rotatably engaged with the first sifter and may also have at least one sifting hole. The second sifter may rotate with the rotation of the cover, such that when the cover is rotated into a closed position the second sifter is rotated in relation to the first sifter to offset the holes in the first sifter and the holes in the second sifter. When the cover is rotated into an open position the second sifter is rotated in relation to the first sifter to align the holes in the first sifter with the holes in the second sifter.

  • Publication number: 20070289603
Abstract: A cosmetics dispenser apparatus includes a base containing a reservoir for housing a product and a lid containing an interior tapered cap. The reservoir includes an upper portion containing a shape opening, and the tapered cap ends in a shaped projection that is sized to fit into the shaped opening of the reservoir. A hinge connects the lid and the base and is pivotable relative to the base between an open position in which the product is accessible, and a closed position. In the closed position the lid seals the reservoir by inserting the shaped projection into the shaped opening in the reservoir and by compressing the tapered cap into the upper portion of the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 6889696
Abstract: A cosmetic container with spring-biased mirror is provided. The cosmetic container has a lower compartment containing a mirror frame and mirror concealed within. The mirror frame is held in place against the force of the spring by a first flexible hinge which abuts a sidewall of the lower compartment. When the user desires to access the mirror, they press downwards upon a second flexible hinge in the tray of the container which holds the cosmetic. The flexible hinge in the tray is in relationship with the flexible hinge in the mirror frame. Thus, a downwards force applied to the flexible hinge in the tray transmits the downward force to the flexible hinge in the mirror frame. This force disengages the flexible hinge in the mirror frame from the sidewall of the lower compartment, thus permitting the spring to urge the mirror frame and mirror from their concealed position to their exposed position where the mirror is available for use.
