  • Publication number: 20070139519
Abstract: An apparatus and method for stereoscopic 3D image projection and viewing using a single projection source, polarization modulation, and passive eyewear. This approach is applicable to frame sequential video created using existing 3D graphics APIs, as well as other video signal formats, and is compatible with existing digital light processor (DLP) technology for both front and rear projection systems. An alternating polarizer is used to modulate the projected image, and an electronic control circuit is described which can stabilize the alternating polarizer in both frequency and phase lock with a DLP visual signal (as an alternate embodiment, a frequency lock with a fixed phase offset may be employed). A preferred embodiment enables an existing DLP projection system to be enhanced with 3D capability, while an alternate embodiment allows this capability to be integrated into the design of new DLP based projection systems.

  • Publication number: 20060261773
Abstract: Feedback control of a target system is provided which utilizes the imposition of a periodic modulating signal onto a command signal of a controller. The command signal with the period modulating signal imposed thereon is input to the target system to be controlled. A response of the target system to a manifestation of the periodic modulating signal in the command signal is detected, and a feedback signal is produced from the detected response. The periodic modulating signal and the feedback signal are processed together to produce an error signal, and the command signal is modified in accordance with the error signal to drive the current state of the target system toward a desired state, wherein the periodic modulating signal facilitates control of the target system.

  • Publication number: 20060038587
Abstract: In a bi-directional, self-synchronous bus for communication between semiconductor devices, a logic delay is provided as a flag to a state machine control for indicating that the bus is making a transition from a low to a high state. The logic delay causes the bus to adaptively idle until the bus settles, making it amenable for a wide variety of bus sizes and topologies. In this way, oscillation of the bus is avoided without slowing the speed of the state machine clock.

  • Publication number: 20050242757
Abstract: A controller is provided for transitioning a drive signal to a single phase motor between a square wave and pulse width modulation modes, wherein the drive signal is in square wave mode at low motor frequencies and in pulse width modulation mode during normal operation. The transitioning includes using a real time motor model to effectuate transition of the drive signal between the modes, and a sampling rate for sampling the real time motor model during the transitioning. The sampling rate is automatically modified during the transitioning, wherein acceleration of the motor includes transitioning the drive signal from square wave mode to pulse width modulation mode, including periodically increasing the sampling rate during the transitioning. Conversely, when transitioning from pulse width modulation mode to square wave mode, the controller automatically deaccelerates the sampling rate during the transitioning.
