  • Publication number: 20240181965
Abstract: A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a powerfold actuator and a mirror head. The powerfold actuator includes an electrically-operable motor that rotatably drives a gear that is engaged with an output gear to pivot the housing portion relative to the output gear and a pivot post. The powerfold actuator includes a base portion fixed relative to the pivot post and the mounting arm, a first gear, a housing portion, a lifter element non-rotatably disposed at the base portion, and a spring element that urges the first gear toward the base portion. With the mirror head at the drive position, the spring element acts on the base portion via the output gear and housing portion. During powered pivoting of the housing portion relative to the pivot post, the spring element acts on the base portion via the output gear and not via the housing portion or the lifter element.

  • Publication number: 20240133219
Abstract: A vehicular exterior door handle assembly includes a base portion configured to mount at a door of a vehicle, a handle portion extending from the base portion, and an electronic switch disposed within the handle portion. The handle portion includes (i) a fixed portion that, with the base portion mounted at the door of the vehicle, extends outward at the door of the vehicle, and (ii) a movable portion disposed within the fixed portion. When the handle portion is grasped by a user, the movable portion moves to actuate the electronic switch. With the base portion mounted at the door of the vehicle, and when the electronic switch is actuated, the electronic switch actuates a latching mechanism of the door to unlock, lock and/or open the door.

  • Patent number: 11889171
Abstract: A vehicular camera module includes a housing, a camera disposed in the housing, and a transparent cover mounted at the housing. The camera views through the transparent cover. A wiper element is movable relative to the transparent cover to clean the transparent cover. The wiper element is moved via operation of a hydraulic actuator. With the vehicular camera module mounted at an exterior portion of a vehicle, the camera views through the transparent cover in order to capture image data of a scene exterior of the vehicle. With the vehicular camera module mounted at the exterior portion of the vehicle, the hydraulic actuator operates via pressurized fluid supplied to hydraulic actuator to move the wiper element back and forth across the transparent cover to clean the transparent cover of the vehicular camera module.

  • Publication number: 20230211740
Abstract: A vehicular camera monitoring system includes an electronic control unit (ECU) at a vehicle and a support arm movably disposed at a side portion of the vehicle, with the support arm having a base end attached at the side portion of the vehicle and a distal end opposite the base end. A camera is disposed at the distal end of the support arm. The support arm is movable between a stowed position and an extended position. A cover element covers an aperture at the side portion at least when the support arm is in the extended position. The camera, when the support arm is in the extended position, captures image data and provides captured image data to the ECU, which processes the provided image data for (i) display of video images derived from provided image data and/or (ii) detection of an object in the field of view of the camera.
