  • Patent number: 10881420
Abstract: Retrieval assemblies configured to capture an obstruction located in a bodily duct of a patient and associated methods of manufacture are provided. According to one implementation a retrieval assembly is provided that includes a distal collar fixed stationary on an elongate wire, a proximal collar slideable along a portion of the length of the elongate wire, and a plurality of shape memory elongate clot capturing elements that each has a proximal end coupled to the proximal collar and a distal end coupled to the distal collar. The retrieval device is configured to automatically transition from a radially constrained state to an expanded rest state with the proximal collar located nearer the distal collar when in the expanded rest state. As the retrieval device transitions from the radially constrained state to the expanded rest state, proximal portions of the clot capturing elements invert around the proximal collar.

  • Publication number: 20200355066
Abstract: A stratigraphic analysis of a subject wellbore may include determining a heat map curve indicative of misfit values between stratigraphic vertical depth obtained using logged data from an offset wellbore and measured depth over a depth range of the wellbore. A first likelihood that the target measured depth is equal to or within a tolerance of stratigraphic vertical depth respectively for each of a sets of sequences of stratigraphic vertical depth may be calculated. Also, a probability weighted average and an uncertainty that the target measured depth is equal to or within a tolerance of stratigraphic vertical depth may be calculated. A continuous probability function over a range of measured depth that the target measured depth is equal to or within a tolerance of stratigraphic vertical depth may also be calculated. The first likelihood, the probability weighted average, the uncertainty, and the continuous probability function may be used to make and evaluate drilling decisions of the wellbore.

Abstract: Systems and methods for using stratigraphic heat maps to steer a well being drilled. Data from one or more offset wells can be provided to a computer system and used with data from a well being drilled to generate one or more stratigraphic heat maps during the drilling of the subject well. The stratigraphic heat maps can be displayed and used to determine the location of the wellbore relative to one or more geological formations, including one or more target formations or within a target formation. Based on the use of the heat maps and the location of the wellbore relative to a target, the drill plan can be adjusted or updated and/or one or more drilling parameters or operations may be adjusted to drill the wellbore, such as to drill the wellbore to the target or to maximize the length of the wellbore within a target zone.
