  • Patent number: 11798102
Abstract: A technique allows a smart meter to receive a mask. The smart meter may receive the mask from a utility company or an escrow service. The smart meter may apply the mask to original metered data on a continuous schedule, on a periodic schedule, or on a determined schedule, or on a randomized schedule to conceal the original metered data. The smart meter may apply different masks at different times. The smart meter transmits the concealed metered data as augmented metered data remotely to an electric utility via a communication network.

  • Patent number: 10984095
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are described to manage password security. An example apparatus includes a hardware processor to implement a transmission delay manager to invoke a provisional transmission block of a candidate password in response to detecting entry of the candidate password and a vault hash manager to determine hash values of a set of passwords of a list of passwords. The hardware processor further implements a parity verifier to compare the determined hash values to a hash value of the candidate password to determine a count of a number of instances the hash value of the candidate password matches one of the hash values and an alarm action engine to identify a service category type associated with the candidate password, the service category type associated with a threshold and release the provisional transmission block of the candidate password when the count satisfies the threshold.

  • Patent number: 10732582
Abstract: Technologies for managing sensor malfunctions in a compute system include detecting a malfunctioning sensor of the compute system and determining a sensor function performed by the malfunctioning sensor. In response to detection of the malfunctioning sensor, a different sensor of the compute system is selected to perform the sensor function of the malfunctioning sensor. The selected sensor may be of a different sensor type relative to the sensor type of the malfunctioning sensor. The compute system subsequently performs the sensor function of the malfunctioning sensor using the selected sensor. To do so, the compute system may increase, modify, or adjust the manner in which the sensor data from the selected sensor is processed.

  • Patent number: 10735531
Abstract: Various embodiments are generally directed to cooperation among networked devices to obtain and use a multiple-frame screenshot. In one embodiment, an apparatus comprises a processor circuit executing a sequence causing the processor circuit to receive a signal conveying a context data; retrieve an aspect of a current context of the apparatus; compare the aspect to the context data; determine whether a context defined as appropriate exists to engage in interactions with one or more other computing devices through a network based on the comparison, the interactions comprising providing a network service to the one or more other computing devices; and engage in the interactions with one or more computing devices through the network when the appropriate context to engage in the interactions exists. Other embodiments are described and claimed herein.

  • Patent number: 10690511
Abstract: Technologies for managing sensor anomalies in a compute system include determining whether sensor data received from a first sensor is anomalous based on sensor data from another sensor and a correlation rule. The correlation rule defines an excepted correlation between the first sensor data and the second sensor data. If the correlation between the first sensor data and the second sensor data is not observed, the first sensor data may be deemed anomalous. If so, the first sensor data may be verified using another sensor or other correlation. If the first sensor is determined to be malfunctioning, the compute system may mitigate the loss of the first sensor by using another sensor in its place.

  • Patent number: 10313427
Abstract: Technologies are presented that optimize application management on a computing device through contextual application archival and retrieval. A method of managing applications may include: learning contextual relevancy of one or more applications installed on a computing device to a user of the device and determining whether an application is no longer contextually relevant to the user. If the application is no longer contextually relevant, the device may send a request to an application management service to obtain and/or maintain the application; create a placeholder for the application at the device; and remove the application from the device. The device may monitor contextual inputs for relevancy of the archived application. If contextual relevancy is determined, the device may send a request to the service to provide the archived application or a replacement of the archived application to the device; receive the requested application; install the requested application; and remove the placeholder.

  • Patent number: 10191794
Abstract: Technologies are provided in embodiments to monitor and analyze networks. The embodiments can cause a bit in a first bit sequence of a device filter to indicate a failure state based on not receiving a message from a node in a network during a reporting time interval, and upon the reporting time interval expiring, to combine the first bit sequence with a corresponding bit sequence of a shadow filter. The combination preserves, in the shadow filter, an indication of the failure state from the bit in the first bit sequence and any other indications of failure states from bits of the corresponding bit sequence of the shadow filter. More specific embodiments cause, upon the reporting interval expiring, a bit in a second bit sequence of the device filter to indicate a no failure state based on an indication of another no failure state in the first bit sequence.
