Abstract: A method includes receiving first information indicative of a first selection of a machine disposed at a worksite, wherein the first information is received from an electronic device disposed remote from the worksite. The method also includes receiving second information from the electronic device, wherein the second information is indicative of a second selection of a component of the machine. The method further includes determining, using at least one sensor, that an area surrounding the machine is free from unknown objects, and receiving third information indicative of a request to activate the component. The method also includes causing activation of the component based at least in part on the third information.

Abstract: A screed assembly for a paving machine includes a main screed unit having a first section and a second section. A hinge assembly located above the main screed unit pivotally couples the first section with the second section. The first section and the second section rotate around a horizontal axis passing through the hinge assembly. A seal member located between the hinge assembly and the main screed unit covers a gap defined between the first section and the second section below the hinge assembly such that the seal member covers the gap and laterally extends beyond the gap above the first section and the second section. A pair of heating components attached to the first section and the second section heats the first section and the second section.

Abstract: A system and method for mounting a wear bar to a screed frame in a screed assembly may include providing a first set of frame alignment holes on the screed frame, the first set of frame alignment holes having a substantially horizontal orientation. The system and method may also include providing a first set of wear bar alignment holes on the wear bar, the first set of wear bar alignment holes having a substantially sloping orientation and aligning at least one of the first set of frame alignment holes with at least one of the first set of wear bar alignment holes to achieve a desired height tolerance of the wear bar relative to a screed plate.
