  • Publication number: 20090040073
Abstract: A warning light assembly for a watercraft or land vehicle includes a selectively activatable light for mounting to the watercraft or vehicle such that the light is clearly visible to nearby operators/drivers. There is a power source for being carried by the watercraft/vehicle. The light is operatively connected to the power source through a switch that is alternatable between open and closed states. At least one mechanism is provided for sensing when the watercraft/vehicle is decelerating. A control device is responsive to the sensing mechanism for closing the switch only when the watercraft/vehicle decelerates in a longitudinal direction and simultaneously there is no change in acceleration in a transverse direction. This causes the light to activate so that a deceleration warning is provided to nearby persons.

  • Patent number: 7370598
Abstract: A power driven marine ladder apparatus includes a vertically extendable cable section and a horizontally extendable rung section connected transversely to the cable section. An axially rotatable winder is mounted on a marine vessel or fixed marine structure and the cable section is attached to and wrappable about the winder. A motor drives the winder rotatably in a first direction to unwrap the cable section and lower the ladder apparatus, and in an opposite second direction to wrap the cable section on the winder and raise the ladder apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7007621
Abstract: A braking system for a personal watercraft includes at least one brake plate for mounting to the transom of a personal watercraft such that the jet nozzle of the watercraft is directionally adjustable independently of the braking system. The brake plate is alternatable between a nonbraking condition wherein the plate is retracted against the transom and is held completely above a lower edge of the transom, and a braking condition where the brake plate extends beyond the lower edge of the transom. A hand-controlled actuator assembly selectively alternates the brake plate between the braking and nonbraking conditions.
