Abstract: A twist open/twist close edge seal closure is described wherein the closure has a sealing disc supported on the interior portion thereof which vertically rises and lowers depending on the rotation of the closure. The sealing disc has a folding finger which compresses against the sealing rib of the container to provide an adequate seal thereof and allows dispensing of the container contents around the exterior portion of the sealing disc upward through a dispensing channel and through the dispensing spout of the edge seal closure. The closure further comprises an anti-crush rib for seating on a container top wall and preventing crushing of the container neck. The container neck preferably includes a quad-lead thread having a pitch wherein a quarter rotation of the closure will open the container and allowing dispensing of the contents therein.

Abstract: A bottle having a modified neck and intended for use with a child-resistant closure which allows the user to open the bottle without removing the closure completely from the bottle is described. The neck includes at least one locking lug and at least one anti-removal ring. The anti-removal ring is positioned between the lug and the open end of the neck. The neck may further include at least one deformation recess, with the deformation recess being adjacent to and radially offset from the locking lug. The ring and recess are intended to deter the user from bypassing the child-resistant safety features of the bottle and removing the closure completely from the bottle.

Abstract: A closure for a container consists of a top wall with an annular skirt depending therefrom and extending downwardly to a terminating edge. An inner surface of the annular skirt has a retaining bead in an upper portion of the inner wall. If threads are to used on a finished closure, then such threads, as desired, replace the retaining bead. Additionally, the top wall has a flexible annular ring formed axially along an inner surface and depending downwardly therefrom and spaced inwardly of the skirt. A sealing disc is disposed above the retaining bead and below the flexible annular ring. The flexible annular ring has a diameter larger than the inner diameter of the retaining bead. Furthermore, the flexible annular ring is the same diameter as a container rim of a container to be sealed by the closure of the present invention. Another preferred closure substitutes a glue post mounted along an inner surface of the top wall for the retaining bead in order to attach the sealing disc to the inside of the closure.

Abstract: A safety closure including a top wall, a side wall depending from the top wall, and a locking tab projecting outwardly from the side wall, the locking tab having a reinforced end integrally connected to the side wall and a free end connected to the side wall by a biasing strap, wherein the reinforced end of the locking tab inhibits movement of the free end of the locking tab in at least an upward direction.

Abstract: An adapter band for use on a closure, the closure being threadingly engageable with a container neck portion, the container neck portion having at least one locking ramp projecting therefrom, the adapter band providing an annular ring having a groove on an inner surface thereof, the groove being sized to receive an annular lip projecting outwardly from a lower end of the closure; a locking lug extending downwardly from the groove mateable with a recess in the annular lip; and, at least one locking tab projecting from the annular ring, the at least one locking tab being engageable with the at least one locking ramp provided on the container neck portion.
