    Abstract: A torque wrench includes an elongated body, a head, and a cantilever beam. The body extends longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end and includes a channel extending therethrough. The distal end includes an opening extending laterally therethrough along a central axis. The head is rotatably received within the opening at the distal end so that the head is rotatable about the axis. The head includes a gear cam defining teeth about a periphery thereof and an engaging portion sized, shaped, and configured to engage a corresponding engaging feature of a fixation device. The beam is housed within the channel such that a distal tip is received in a space between adjacent teeth. The beam bends when a torsional force applied to the head exceeds a predetermined limit so that the cam rotates about the axis and the distal tip slips from the space between the teeth into an adjacent space.

    Abstract: An example apparatus is provided for placing a first anchor in a first bone, and a locking assembly in a second bone, the first anchor and locking assembly being connected by a flexible segment that provides substantial tensile stabilization but offers little or no resistance to bending, rotation, or shear motion of the first anchor and locking assembly with respect to each other. The first anchor can include a proximal end and a distal end configured for insertion into a first hole in the first bone. The locking assembly can include a proximal end and a distal end configured for insertion into a second hole in the second bone. The flexible segment can be configured to adjust a distance between the first and second bones, while the locking assembly releasably engages the flexible segment to fix the distance between the first and second bones.

The first and second clamp assemblies are transitionable between open and closed configurations. The inner locking member is transitionable between a locked position and an unlocked position. In the locked position the inner locking member engages the first clamp assembly substantially preventing the first clamp assembly from transitioning from the closed configuration to the open configuration. The outer locking assembly is transitionable between a locked position and an unlocked position. In the locked position the outer locking assembly engages the first clamp assembly and the second clamp assembly substantially preventing both the first clamp assembly from transitioning from the closed configuration to the open configuration and the second clamp assembly from transitioning from the closed configuration to the open configuration.

    Abstract: A surgical clip applicator includes a base housing having a body portion, a movable trigger, a cannula, and a clip application mechanism extending within and through at least a portion of a length of the cannula. The clip application mechanism includes a movable first linkage and a jaw rotatable about a pivot mount. A first actuation of the trigger causes the first linkage to be moved in a linear direction with respect to the body portion and the cannula and the jaw to be rotated in a first direction about the pivot mount, for placing the clip in an open position on the patient's tissue. A second actuation of the trigger causes the jaw to be rotated in second direction about the pivot mount, the second direction being opposite to the first direction, placing the clip in a closed position on the patient's tissue.
