  • Patent number: 8402276
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating and verifying an electronic document with embedded digital signatures. When an electronic document is generated, signature blocks are included that are used to store corresponding digital signatures. When each digital signature is generated, some of the attributes of the signature blocks are filled such that the digital signature references these attributes, such as a timestamp. Each signature block also includes a reconstruct attribute that is used when the electronic document and/or the digital signature is validated through reconstruction. Other signature blocks do not require a reconstruct attribute. During reconstruction, some data is removed from the electronic document such that the data is identical to a previous state. The reconstructed document is hashed and the hash result is compared with the decrypted digital signature. The electronic document and/or the digital signature is validated or verified if the hash result matches the decrypted digital signature.

  • Patent number: 7523315
Abstract: Electronic signatures valid in printed or scanned form. Electronic signatures are embedded in documents such that the electronic signatures are valid even when the document is scanned, printed or stored in paper form. A document includes a barcode embedded into the document. The barcode includes a unique document ID and a unique signature ID identifying the document and the signer of the document. The document also includes language embedded into the document indicating that the signer of the document authorizes paper versions of the document to be accepted as containing a valid electronic signature.

  • Patent number: 6216130
Abstract: Systems and methods for managing geographic and other data structures. Using an administrator application, an administrator identifies geographic data structures deemed to be of interest to an organization and compiles associated reference information. The reference information includes retrieval addresses and display information specifying the display format of the data structures. The administrator can establish relationships between the referenced geographic data structures, tabular data, or other data, which define the manner in which multiple data structures are to be displayed. These relationships can be expressed in geographic themes that specify an application and associated geographic and tabular data structures that can be displayed by the application. A user application allows the user to select geographic information of interest.
