    Abstract: A process for the continuous polymerization of polydiorganosiloxanes comprising:(a) mixing one or more cyclopolysiloxane monomers with one or more chainstopping agents,(b) preheating the mixture resulting from (a),(c) adding to the preheated mixture of (b) an amount of catalyst effective for catalyzing a polymerization reaction,(d) polymerizing the catalyzed mixture of (c) in a screw extruder having essentially plug flow therethrough, and(e) adding to the resulting polymer an amount of neutralizing agent effective for neutralizing said catalyst.
