  • Patent number: 7677022
Abstract: A convertible mower deck has a plurality of adjoining cuffing chambers under a mower deck, each cutting chamber having a cutting blade mounted to the lower end of a vertical spindle. Angled pivoting baffles are positioned in the openings between adjoining cutting chambers, and a baffle also is mounted in the discharge opening from one of the cutting chambers. The baffles may pivot between an open position for the grass clippings to be discharged or collected, a closed position for the grass clippings to be mulched, and one or more intermediate positions for some of the clippings to be discharged or collected, and the remainder to be mulched.

  • Publication number: 20040187420
Abstract: A seam plate or membrane plate implement assembly comprises a support strip or substrate having a longitudinal extent and upon which a plurality of seam plates or membrane plates are fixedly disposed at predetermined uniformly spaced longitudinal positions which correspond to the transverse spacing defined between the crest portions of an underlying corrugated roof decking substructure. In this manner, when a particular one of the membrane plates or seam plates is fixedly secured to one of the crest portions of the underlying corrugated roof decking substructure by suitable threaded fasteners, the remaining membrane plates or seam plates will be automatically properly aligned with the other crest portions of the underlying corrugated roof decking substructure so as to automatically ensure proper and secure fixation of the seam plates or membrane plates upon the roof decking assembly.

  • Patent number: 6494026
Abstract: A belt drive arrangement for a cutting implement having multiple pivotally connected decks. The arrangement consists of pulley carrying arms, whereby each of the arms carries a plurality of drive and driven pulleys having respective belts thereon for the transfer of power to the blades carried within each of the decks. Each arm has an end mounted with the deck whereby the arrangement is pivotal to permit the axes about which each of the pulleys rotate to remain substantially parallel to each other as a particular deck flexes relative to an adjacent deck. The belts then generally maintain alignment with the grooves of the pulleys. Consequently, the belts are less stressed as they rotate since they do not have to twist and/or bend when entering or exiting the pulleys.

  • Patent number: 5619751
Abstract: A marine vest 10 designed to be worn by an operator of a personal watercraft while wearing a life jacket. The vest 10 includes a back section comprising a pair of shoulder straps positioned to fit over the shoulders of the operator. The straps are attached to a waist section which wraps around the operator's waist. This waist section has free ends which terminate near the middle of the front upper torso of the operator. Each free end has attached to it one component of a two-component buckle, so that the operator can manually buckle and unbuckle the two-component buckle while the vest is being worn. A pair of handles are attached to the waist section, each handle at one side of the operator. A second rider immediately seated behind the operator can thus grasp firmly these handles and more securely maintain his or her seated position on the watercraft. The vest 10 being sized to fit over the life jacket and is made of buoyant materials so that it will float in water.
