    Abstract: A hard foamed material having a small specific gravity and a high mechanical strength is produced by mixing vinyl chloride resin with a large amount of inorganic powdery substances and a solvent, heating and kneading the resulting mixture in a closed kneader at a given temperature, adding a liquefied butane with a solvent thereto, and heating and foaming the resulting mixture in a mold.
