  • Patent number: 9118300
Abstract: A surface acoustic wave (SAW) device comprising at least one heating element formed on the substrate; at least one temperature sensor having a first electric component on the substrate whose resistance varies with the temperature of the substrate and a second electric component whose resistance does not vary; and a temperature controller including an operational amplifier bonded in thermally conductive relationship to the substrate. The operational amplifier is responsive to the output of the temperature sensor to apply power to the heating element and thereby maintain the temperature of the substrate within a predetermined temperature range. The transducer, heating element, and first component are monolithically formed on the substrate, and only three electrical connections are on the substrate at voltage to off-SAW die points.

  • Patent number: 9080895
Abstract: A magnetic rotational position sensor assembly for measurement of a rotational angular position of a rotating structure. The sensor assembly includes a shaft member extending along a primary rotational axis for primary rotational movement in response to rotation of the rotating structure, a motion conversion member structured and configured to transform the primary rotational movement of the shaft member into secondary movement, a magnet member secured to the motion conversion member for displacement along a travel path in response to the converted secondary movement of the motion conversion member, and a non-contact magnetic sensor that senses a change in position of the magnet member by sensing a corresponding variation in the magnetic field during displacement of the magnet member along the travel path in response to rotation of the rotating structure, wherein the magnetic sensor generates an output signal representative of a relative rotational angular position of the rotating structure.

  • Publication number: 20150113105
Abstract: An improved provisioning process for a hybrid network that makes use of Layer 2 technologies instead of Layer 3 technologies to enable automated provisioning of a custom hybrid network for a customer. In some embodiments, the automated provisioning can commence after a customer makes selections of the servers and/or services to be included in the hybrid network.

  • Publication number: 20130328643
Abstract: A surface acoustic wave (SAW) device includes a piezoelectric crystal substrate on which an acoustic channel is formed, at least one electro-mechanical transducer operatively associated with the acoustic channel, and an encapsulating casing having a cover spaced above the acoustic channel and thereby defining a sealed volume around the substrate. A mass deposition device within the casing is spaced between the acoustic channel and the cover, preferably as gold-coated heating wire spanning the acoustic channel and having ends that are connectable to an electric power source outside the casing. Stress and aging shifts can be induced after sealing of the cover. Tuning is achieved by evaporating metal molecules off the heated wire onto the acoustic channel as the frequency is monitored, until the mass loading of metal molecules on the transducer produces the target frequency.

  • Publication number: 20060117902
Abstract: A pedal assembly including a pedal support and a pedal arm. The pedal arm includes a lever portion and an integral pivot portion arranged along a pivot axis. The pivot portion is rotatably engaged with the pedal support to provide pivotal movement of the pedal arm about the pivot axis. A magnetic field generator providing a magnetic field is engaged with the pivot portion such that pivotal movement of the pedal arm results in rotational displacement of the magnetic field about the pivot axis. A sensor device is engaged with the pedal support and comprises at least one magnetic flux sensor positioned within the magnetic field to sense variations in the magnetic field during rotational displacement and to generate an output signal representative of a rotational position of the magnetic field relative to the magnetic flux sensor.

  • Patent number: 5820039
Abstract: An apparatus and method for removing hulls from milo berries is provided. The apparatus includes a first cylindrical shaped chamber having a plurality of abrasive grinding stones mounted on a shaft extending through the chamber. The outlet to the first chamber is connected by a suitable conduit to the inlet of a second, cylindrical shaped chamber having a plurality of wire brushes mounted on a rotor extending through the chamber. An aspiration system connected to the chambers removes hull particles that have been separated from the milo berries. As the milo berries sequentially pass through the chambers, the stones and brushes remove the hulls from the berries.
