  • Patent number: 9795316
Abstract: A lightweight, disposable and substantially radiolucent electrode or sensor assembly for that universally connects to separate, non-integrated electrodes or sensors for the monitoring of the physiological parameters of a live subject wherein the electrode assembly is comprised of one or more radiolucent electrical connectors for connecting the electrode assembly to the sensors. The present invention also discloses a method of positioning the electrode assembly on a patient whose physiological signs are being monitored such that access to the patient's chest is substantially unimpeded so as not to obstruct the electromagnetic imaging of the patient's chest, the application of defibrillation paddles or surgical procedures that require access to the chest area.

  • Patent number: 9531689
Abstract: A system and method involve determining that one or more data packets received from a first device on a communications network are one of data at rest and data in transit, performing one of an encryption operation and a decryption operation on the data packets, and storing the data packets in a memory device if they are data at rest or transmitting the data packets over the communications network if they are data in transit. If the data packets are data in transit, the method may involve, prior to transmission, encapsulating information into a frame of the data packets to indicate they are data in transit. The data packets may be compressed prior to encryption. The determination that the data packets are one of data at rest and data in transit may be based upon a value of at least one data field of the data packets.

  • Patent number: 7364440
Abstract: An electrical connector for providing a watertight electrical connection between a flat, single or multi-traced, rigid and/or flexible printed circuit and a separate electronics unit. The electrical connector is comprised of a plug having one or more keyhole-shaped slots which serve to mechanically secure the connection between the one or more traces of the circuit and one or more fixed pins on the body of the separate electronics unit. The plug is placed over the one or more pins such that the pins are inserted up through the wider portion of the slots and in a push or pull action, the pins are slid into the narrower portion of the slot such that the pins are locked into place. The conductive traces are then secured into contact with the electrical contacts of the separate electronics device.

  • Publication number: 20060278231
Abstract: A pneumatic shuttle valve for a ventilator is disclosed. The pneumatic shuttle valve selectively connects one of two inlet openings to an outlet opening. The shuttle valve has a plug that is forced by gas pressure entering the second inlet opening, to move to and seal against a first sealing surface, thereby forming a passageway between the second inlet opening and the outlet opening. The plug is forced by gas entering the first inlet opening, to move to and seal against a second sealing surface, thereby forming a passageway between the first inlet opening and the outlet opening.

  • Patent number: 7036042
Abstract: A data storage system includes controller nodes and a storage component. The controller nodes couple the storage component to a host. The storage component includes a controller and sleds with disk drives. The host and the storage component form an arbitrated loop. When the arbitrated loop is down, the controller removes the storage component from the arbitrated loop so the controller, the sleds, and the disk drives form an internal loop. When the internal loop is also down, the controller tests each of the sleds individually and marks those that are not responding properly. If a sled is responding properly the controller tests each of the drives in that sled individually and marks those that are not responding properly. The controller adds back into the internal loop the sleds and the drives that are not marked as bad, and then the storage component back into the arbitrated loop.
