  • Patent number: 11854335
Abstract: A method of contact-less access control to a device available for rental, access and use in an environment, by scanning multi-level machine-readable codes displayed in the environment using web-enabled mobile phones wirelessly connected to a wireless access control network. To practice a facility-level, site-level access and/or device-level access control method, a web-enabled mobile phone is used to scan facility-level, site-level and/or device-level machine-readable codes in the environment, and in response, rental transaction identifiers are stored within the cache on the web-enabled mobile phone scanning the machine-readable code. Each rental transaction identifier identifies the web-enabled mobile phone that is linked to a specific device rental transaction. After renting the selected device at either a facility-level, site-level or device-level location in the environment, the web-enabled mobile phone is used to scan the device-level machine-readable code on the rented device.

  • Patent number: 9919785
Abstract: A stringer made of composite material for reinforcing aircraft skin panels. Plies are introduced at 90° in a segment close to the stringer run-out, and progressively reducing the number of plies at 0°, such that the majority of the number of plies is at 90° in an segment adjacent to the run-out, so the stiffness of the run-out is reduced, and the load it supports is also therefore reduced. This is an alternative solution to the solutions already existing for getting the stringer run-outs to support a smaller load, thereby reducing both the risk of the plies of the stringer peeling off and the risk of separation between stringer and skin panel. A method of manufacturing said stringer is also provided.

  • Patent number: 5388696
Abstract: A disposable packing for flat glass plates can stack the plates for transportation in standard containers. This disposable packing has lateral wooden upstanding posts which rest against the internal walls of the standard container. By using wedges, the upstanding posts are inclined with respect to the internal walls of the container. The angle of inclination between the post and the floor of the container is obtuse. The posts are attached at their base to supporting boards affixed to the floor of the container. The boards have the post affixed to one face while the other face of the boards has a flexible cover. The glass plates are visible at their periphery. The posts have cushioning strips of styropor or plush, for example. A central V-shape space is formed between the packages resting on the post.

  • Patent number: 4587066
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for producing magnetic media are disclosed. Magnetic particles in a magnetic layer are oriented under the influence of a magnetic field positioned on one side of the layer and having its lines of flux extending in a direction which is generally perpendicular to the magnetic layer, while the latter is cured by being subjected to electron beams incident on an opposite side of the layer, whereby the particles are fixed in the desired orientation.
