    Abstract: A power transmission apparatus is capable of easily passing lubricant toward a seal arranged between a higher shat and an opening of a case of the apparatus. The apparatus includes the higher shaft, i.e., a hollow connecting shaft that faces the outside of the transfer case through the opening of the transfer case. The oil seal is arranged between the hollow shaft and the opening of the transfer case. The hollow shaft meshes, through helical spur gears, with an intermediate transferring shaft that is positioned lower than the hollow shaft. A lubricant guide is arranged to receive lubricant splashed up by the ring gear and helical spur gear of the intermediate shaft and guide the received lubricant toward the oil seal and a ball bearing.

An end surface of the clutch housing and an end surface of a core of the electromagnet are disposed to be opposed to each other with the rotor interposed therebetween in an axial direction. The end of the rotor in a side of the clutch housing is formed with an extension portion which extends to the clutch housing in the axial direction. An outer periphery of the clutch housing is connected to the extension portion through a connection portion. The connection portion is disposed outside the main clutch in a radial direction.

The cooling system includes a compressor having a first rotor for compressing air, a cooler for cooling high-temperature, high-pressure air delivered form the compressor, and an expander having a second rotor for effecting adiabatic expansion of air cooled by the cooler. The expander has a speed change mechanism for transmitting drive torque of a prime mover to the compressor and a common shaft that extends through the first and second rotors. The expander is interposed between the speed change mechanism and the compressor.

    Abstract: A supercharging device including an actuator for controlling return force of a resilient member in a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with a flyweight and a resilient member is provided. The actuator is employed so that a movable flange slides along the axis thereof away from a fixed flange in a drive pulley of the CVT when under a light load for which auxiliary machinery such as a supercharger driven by the CVT requires little driving force. The actuator is installed inside an input pulley through which the driving force of the engine is transmitted to the drive pulley.
