  • Patent number: 4786248
Abstract: Disclosed is a piezoelectric type gaslighter equipped with a thumb-latch for preventing an inadvertent fire which may be caused, for instance, when a child plays with a gaslighter. A gaslighter according to the present invention includes an intermediate casing and a piezoelectric unit having a movable operating part. The intermediate casing has a cross slot opening with a thumb-latch slidably fitted therein whereas the movable operating part has a longitudinal slot groove. The piezoelectric unit is properly inserted in the intermediate casing so that the longitudinal slot groove of the movable operating part intersects the cross slot opening of the casing. With this arrangement when the thumb-latch is displaced to the crossing at which the longitudinal slot groove intersects the cross slot opening, the movable operating part can move to strike the piezoelectric element for producing a small flame. Otherwise, the movable operating part is latched.

  • Patent number: 4784602
Abstract: Disclosed is a gas lighter equipped with a safety lock, which is an L-shaped slidable stopper so slidably fitted in the re-entrancy of the thumb-push gas lever that its vertical pin may be above a hole of the lighter housing when its horizontal slide is pushed in the re-entrancy of the gas lever, thus permitting the descent of the gas lever for lighting, and that its vertical pin may be off from the hole of the surface of the lighter housing when its horizontal slide is drawn backward, thus preventing the descent of the gas lever for lighting. A gas lighter according to the persent invention assures in its locking condition that an accident which may be caused when a child plays with the device, such as a burn or an accidental fire is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4784601
Abstract: Disclosed is a gas lighter equipped with a safety lock, which is an L-shaped slidable stopper so slidably fitted in the reentrancy of the thumb-push gas lever that its vertical leg may be on the top of the lighter housing when its horizontal leg is pushed in the reentrancy of the gas lever, thus preventing the descent of the gas lever for lighting, and that its vertical leg may be off from the top surface of the lighter housing when its horizontal leg is drawn to the full length, thus permitting the descent of the gas lever for lighting. A gas lighter according to the present invention assures in its locking condition that an accident which may be caused when a child plays with the device, such as a burn or an accidental fire is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4762254
Abstract: A pressure container for dispensing a flowable product in the form of an aerosol. The pressure container includes a container body having a hollow plug welded to an inner surface of the body. A spring-loaded spouting tube having a valve port is slidably received in the plug with a portion of the tube projecting above the plug. An annular deformable gasket is disposed about the spouting tube for normally closing the valve port. An externally threaded guide member is disposed about the spouting tube and is seated on the gasket. An actuator having a spray nozzle is fitted on the spouting tube projecting portion.

  • Patent number: 4690377
Abstract: Disclosed is a valve for use in a pressure-resistant container, permitting the full filling of the container with a liquefied gas thanks to a well controlled gas depletion path. The opening and closing of the depletion path is effected by bringing two opposing contact members apart and close to each other whereas the flow rate of gas depletion depends on the roughness of the contact surface areas of the opposing member. Such an appropriate depletion path can be made without difficulty such as encountered with formation of depletion path with recourse to machining.

  • Patent number: 4190412
Abstract: A disposable cigarette gas lighter has a snuffing cover on a plastic fuel reservoir. The snuffing cover is rotatably mounted on the lighter independently of a sparking wheel. When lighting the lighter, the snuffing cover is opened with the thumb which is used for rotating the sparking wheel so that the snuffing cover will be opened when the sparking wheel is rotated. When closing the snuffing cover, the snuffing cover is closed independently of the sparking wheel. Further, the snuffing cover can be opened without rotating the sparking wheel so that the sparking wheel is not rotated when the snuffing cover is accidentally opened.
