  • Patent number: 5653952
Abstract: A modified process for synthesizing diamond having developed by further improving a process of diamond synthesis based on combustion method, which provides diamond grains 1.5 mm or larger in crystal diameter at good economy. The process comprises burying one or two or more seed crystal diamond grain(s) 2 into the surface of a substrate 1, and striking a combustion flame on said seed crystal diamond grain(s) 2 while cooling the substrate 1 to thereby allow diamond to grow on the seed crystal diamond 2 into a larger diamond grain.

  • Patent number: 5654924
Abstract: A semiconductor memory device is provided which can apply a voltage stress to every adjacent bit lines even when data is written using a data bit compression function in a burn-in test mode. More specifically, when data is written using the data bit compression function in the test mode, an input buffer circuit is brought to a state in which it receives a signal corresponding to a signal dq0 applied to a specific input/output terminal by a switch circuit controlled by a test mode specify signal TE in common. When an inversion designate signal INV is in an active state, a complementary signal corresponding to a signal obtained by inversion of signal dq0 by an inverting circuit is output to internal data buses IO0, ZIO0, and IO2, ZIO2. On the other hand, a complementary signal corresponding to signal dq0 is output to internal data buses IO1, ZIO1, and IO3, ZIO3.

  • Patent number: 5617362
Abstract: A DRAM includes an output terminal, a memory cell array having a plurality of memory cells, a row decoder, a column decoder, an input/output circuit, a data extending circuit, an output buffer circuit, and a control circuit. The data extending circuit extends each data read out from the input/output circuit until a subsequent data is read out. The output buffer circuit responds to the extended data from the data extending circuit for providing output data sequentially to the output terminal. In response to an output control signal provided from the control circuit, the output terminal is set to a high impedance state before each output data is provided from the output buffer circuit.

  • Patent number: 5592196
Abstract: An image data processing apparatus such as an image synthesizing apparatus that synthesizes an image produced by a computer in accordance with tables stored in pages. A picture data conversion circuit converts picture data of red, blue and green color signals or picture data of luminance and color difference signals to predetermined converted picture data. A page change circuit switches the page of the picture data conversion circuit on the basis of alpha data representing transparency of the color picture data. An image data processing apparatus generates virtual addresses based on predetermined reference addresses in an address space larger than the frame memory addresses for accessing a plurality of frame memories at a low-order bit of the virtual address by selecting and outputting the image data outputted from the plurality of frame memories on the basis of a high-order bit of the virtual address.

  • Patent number: 5579705
Abstract: The flow of waste gas is directed downwardly by means of a refractory guide chute so as to follow the down flow of molten slag at the downstream end of a slag outlet. Thus the sensible heat of the high-temperature waste gas forcedly heats the molten slag and the downstream end portion of the slag outlet. Consequently, it becomes less possible for the slag outlet to be choked up. When there are signs that the slag outlet is being choked up, the plasma torch is slightly tilted to the upstream end of the slag outlet so as to stabilize the discharge of the molten slag. A housing or jacket is disposed circumferentially around an incineration residue feed pipe, inserted through the incineration residue inlet, and adapted to allow an annular gas curtain to issue therefrom. Fuel injection against the waste gas in the furnace body is particularly suitable for decreasing the amount of NOx.

  • Patent number: 5504636
Abstract: A magnetic disk apparatus has a rail support which supports guide rails for guiding a carriage on which heads are mounted. The rail support is positioned outside a magnet of a voice coil motor and mounted on a frame. The guide rails are disposed so as to extend across a cavity in the rail support and have their opposite end portions attached to the rail support. The guide rails do not vibrate even if the voice coil motor receives a reaction during head seeking, whereby the head positioning accuracy can be improved and the storage capacity can be increased. The rigidity of the guide rails is increased by supporting the opposite ends of the guide rails. This structure and a coaxial arrangement of a motor coil allow the overall length of the carriage and, hence, the overall size of the apparatus to be reduced.

  • Patent number: 5447427
Abstract: A low calorific gas is burned without the need of mixing or burning it with a high calorific gas. The method includes introducing either combustion air or low calorific gas into the mixing chamber, introducing the remainder into the mixing chamber through the perforated nozzles such that it is injected in the radial direction at a high speed from the holes to effect the mixing of the two in the mixing chamber, and injecting the mixed gas into the combustion chamber through the nozzles of the refractory baffle. The stable combustion of a low calorific gas alone by the aid of combustion air without the need of diffusing it into the atmosphere or burning it together with an expensive high calorific gas or oxygen-enriched combustion air is thereby effected, which greatly contributes to energy saving and environmental protection.
