  • Patent number: 11134537
Abstract: Methods and apparatus enabling interruption of the use of communication resources by a first UE are disclosed. Interrupt requests (IR) sent from other UEs wishing to interrupt use of the communication resources by the first UE are monitored. If one or more IR are received, an interrupt requirement (IReg) is established, and the allocation of communication resources to the first UE is released in response to the IReq. In some embodiments, if a requirement for continuing use of the communication resources by the first UE is determined during a monitoring period, the IReq is reversed and the allocation of communication resources to the first UE is continued so that communication is not interrupted. Embodiments of the invention enable interruption of a high priority user by a co-ordinated or synchronised interrupt requests from UEs with lower priority.

  • Publication number: 20210234941
Abstract: According to an aspect, a wireless device receives (302) a preview digital image from a computer server and applies object recognition processing (304) to the preview digital image, to determine (306) whether the preview digital image contains a representation of a known object of interest. Responsive to a positive determination, the wireless device transmits (308) an indication of the positive determination. The computer server sends, in response to the transmitted indication, an enhanced digital image corresponding to the preview digital image, or additional image data, which is received (310) by the wireless device. In the latter case, the wireless device forms an enhanced version of the preview digital image using the additional image data. The wireless device at least temporarily stores (312) the enhanced image or image version, e.g., for rendering on a display screen of the device.

  • Publication number: 20200404555
Abstract: In a wireless communication network, a device for handling neighbour relations of a first cell selects, based on the altitude of a wireless device being served by the first cell, a set of neighbour relations (66) for the first cell from a number of sets (64, 66, 68) of neighbour relations, where each set is associated with a different altitude interval (AI1, AI2, AI3), and determines neighbour cells for the wireless device based on the selected set of neighbour relations (66). The wireless device may in turn obtain a number of sets of neighbour relations (64, 66, 68) for the first cell, select, based on the altitude of the wireless device, a set of neighbour relations (66) for the first cell from a number of sets (64, 66, 68) of neighbour relations, and determine neighbour cells for the wireless device based on the selected set of neighbour relations (66).

  • Publication number: 20200351607
Abstract: Method performed by a first communication device operating in a wireless communications network. The wireless communications network comprises a group of communication devices. The first communication device determines that a number of communication devices, comprised in the group of communication devices, having reported that data about a position of a second communication device comprised in the group of communication devices has not been received within a time period, is above a threshold. The first communication device then initiates transmitting an indication to at least one receiving device, indicating a result of the determination. Also disclosed is a method by a third communication device comprised in the group. The third communication device starts a timer defining the time period and, in the absence of the data received within the period, sends a notification of expiration of the timer.
