Patent number: 10122417Abstract: Communicating via near field communication (NFC) between a reader and an application on an NFC-enabled device. The device receives, from a reader, a selection of an application identifier (AID) proxy of the device. The proxy receives, from the reader, a query (including domain name) directed to the availability of an application on the device. The proxy determines whether the domain name corresponds to an AID of an application on the device by reference to a data store relating each domain name of each application to a corresponding AID. When the domain determined to correspond to an AID of an application on the device, the device transmits a response to the reader indicating the AID corresponding to the domain name. The device receives, from the reader, selection of the transmitted AID. The application corresponding to selected AID communicates with the reader in an NFC application protocol data unit communication session.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 2017Date of Patent: November 6, 2018Assignee: GOOGLE LLCInventors: Tommy Poon, Mun-Wei Low

Patent number: 9495558Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products are provided for managing access control. A first set of access control rules is stored in a memory of mobile communication device. The mobile communication device receives from a trusted server over a communication network a notification message indicating that an access control rule has been updated in a secure element. In response to receiving the notification message, the mobile communication device retrieves from the secure element a second set of access control rules including at least the access control rule that has been updated. The first set of access control rules is updated based on the second set of access control rules retrieved from the secure element. An applet stored on the secure element is accessed via an application running on the mobile communication device, in accordance with the updated first set of access control rules.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2014Date of Patent: November 15, 2016Assignee: GOOGLE INC.Inventors: Danny Sung, Tommy Poon

Publication number: 20160048865Abstract: Providing offers to a point of sale (“POS”) terminal utilizes a digital wallet of a user and a digital wallet system. A digital wallet account stores offers provided by merchants, manufacturers, and others. The offers are associated with a particular geographic location. When a user computing device operating the digital wallet application is in a location associated with the POS terminal, the digital wallet application accesses the location of the user computing device. If an offer is associated with the location of the user computing device, the offer is readied for communication to the POS terminal. When the user taps the user computing device to the POS terminal, the offer is communicated to the POS terminal for application to the transaction. If the user leaves the location that is associated with the offer, the offer parameters are removed from the secure element.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 13, 2015Publication date: February 18, 2016Inventor: Tommy Poon

Patent number: 6519288Abstract: The apparatus for decoding a digital signal includes a composite picture forming unit for forming a composite picture from a first digital video signal and a second digital video signal. The first digital video signal includes inter-coded picture data. A down-converter receives a third digital video signal, and outputs the third digital video signal to the composite picture forming unit as the first digital signal in a first mode. However, the down-converter down-converts the third digital video signal into a fourth digital video signal in a second mode, and outputs the fourth digital video signal to the composite picture forming unit in the second mode. A memory stores the anchor pictures output from the composite picture forming unit, and a motion compensator generates the second digital signal based on the stored anchor pictures.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 1998Date of Patent: February 11, 2003Assignee: Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories, Inc.Inventors: Anthony Vetro, Huifang Sun, Tommy Poon
