Abstract: A head assembly for a chip mounter is provided. The head assembly includes: a housing having a plurality of spindle receiving holes; nozzle spindles that are fitted with nozzles picking up and mounting electronic components and vertically movably inserted into the spindle receiving holes; a selection member selecting at least one of the nozzle spindles and vertically moving the selected nozzle spindle; a horizontal driver horizontally moving the selection member and changing a nozzle spindle to be selected; and an elevating driver vertically moving the selection member.

Abstract: Provided is a component mounter having a plurality of revolving nozzle spindles, which can simultaneously pick up and mount two or more electronic components. A head assembly for the component mounter includes: a base frame; a rotary housing rotatably mounted on the base frame and having spindle receiving holes vertically formed at regular intervals at the same radius from a center thereof; a plurality of nozzle spindles having lower ends to which nozzles for picking up electronic components are coupled, and received in the spindle receiving holes such that the plurality of nozzle spindles rotate on the same axis when the rotary housing rotates; a housing rotating mechanism rotating the rotary housing; and a nozzle lifting mechanism including a nozzle lift driving unit, and a clutch part that moves according to the operation of the nozzle lift driving unit and can simultaneously press down and lower the plurality of nozzle spindles.

Abstract: Provided are tape feeding and recovering modules for a tape feeder, and a tape feeder including the tape feeding module and the recovering module. The tape feeding module feeds a tape storing a plurality of electronic components in a predetermined pitch by driving a sprocket which inserts its teeth into the tape. And the recovering module exposes the plurality of electrical components by removing a top cover from a top surface of the tape and discharges the top cover from the tape feeder.

Abstract: Provided are a small tape feeder for a component mounter, which can transfer one or more strips of tape and can insert the tapes into a tape guide easily and precisely, and a method of automatically setting a tape initial position for such a tape feeder. The tape feeder includes a frame; at least one index pin, which is mounted on one side of the frame and transfers a tape by being inserted into one of tape holes, in which electronic components are received, and moves forwardly; a pin moving unit, which includes a pin horizontally moving member for horizontally moving the index pin, and a pin vertically moving member for vertically moving the index pin so that the index pin can be inserted into or removed from the tape hole; and a top cover discharging unit, which is installed on the other side of the frame and discharges a top cover detached from the tape.
