Patent number: 9919562Abstract: A pneumatic tire having an air impermeable layer. A film formed of a thermoplastic resin or thermoplastic elastomer composition comprising a blend of a thermoplastic resin and an elastomer is used for the air impermeable layer. Separation of the film is prevented and an inner appearance of the tire is improved. The air impermeable layer 10, which is disposed on the inner side of the tire, is formed from a laminated body 14 comprising a ribbon-shaped film 11 and ribbon-shaped elastomer plies 12 and 13 laminated on opposite sides thereof. The laminated body 14 is wound in the circumferential direction of the tire in such a partially overlapping manner that it is displaced at prescribed intervals. Each pair of adjacent wound portions 14A and 14B of the laminated body 14 are spliced to each other in a partially overlapping manner in a state where the ribbon-shaped film 11 is disengaged from itself.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2015Date of Patent: March 20, 2018Assignee: The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yoshiaki Hashimura, Takahiko Sawada, Tomohiko Kogure

Publication number: 20100126647Abstract: A pneumatic tire using as an air permeation prevention layer a film consisting of thermoplastic resin or thermoplastic elastomer composition obtained by blending thermoplastic resin with elastomer, wherein the film is prevented form being peeled off to prevent entry of a release agent into the interior and the internal view of the tire is improved. An air permeation prevention layer (10) disposed on the inner side of the tire is constituted of a laminate (14) obtained by layering ribbon-form elastomer layers (12, 13) on the opposite sides of a ribbon-form film (11). The laminate (14) is wound in the tire circumferential direction while being overlapped partially and deviated at specified intervals. Respective adjoining winding portions (14A1, 14A2) of the laminate (14) are joined by being overlapped partially with ribbon-form films (11) kept separated from each other.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 4, 2007Publication date: May 27, 2010Applicant: THE YOKOHAMA RUBBER CO., LTD.Inventors: Yoshiaki Hashimura, Takahiko Sawada, Tomohiko Kogure

Patent number: 6744355Abstract: A system for notifying a driver in a vehicle of a level of danger of an occurrence of tire failure according to the present invention has a danger level assessment device which calculates a danger level assessment value indicating an index showing a probability of the occurrence of the failure from a measured tire inflation pressure and a measured tire running speed, using a characterized danger level assessing function to assess the danger level according to the calculated value. The characterized assessing function is a function of a tire running speed and of a tire inflation pressure, in which a value of the function monotonously increases as the tire running speed increase and as the tire inflation pressure decreases. The danger level assessment value is obtained by adding a cumulative value determined according to usage history of the tire to a value calculated from the danger level assessing function with the measured tire running speed and the measured tire inflation pressure.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2002Date of Patent: June 1, 2004Assignee: The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd.Inventors: Tomohiko Kogure, Yukio Tozawa

Patent number: 6692089Abstract: The invention provides a brake control device for a vehicle, a brake control method and a recording medium having a program causing a computer to perform the brake control method. A tire friction characteristic with respect to a vehicle velocity or a wheel velocity is memorized in advance. When a brake is put on to the vehicle, a current slip ratio or a current slip velocity is found and an optimum slip ratio or an optimum slip velocity is calculated using the tire friction characteristic. Then, a difference between the optimum slip ratio and the found current slip ratio or a difference between the optimum slip velocity and the found current slip velocity is compared with a predetermined value. According to a result of the comparison, a braking force applied to the vehicle is controlled.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 2002Date of Patent: February 17, 2004Assignee: The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masatoshi Kuwajima, Tomohiko Kogure
