  • Publication number: 20070125115
Abstract: A refrigerant circuit (40) is provided with two adsorption heat exchangers (56, 57) in addition to an outdoor heat exchanger (54) and an indoor heat exchanger (55). The indoor heat exchanger (55) and the two adsorption heat exchangers (56, 57) are disposed in an indoor unit (11), while the outdoor heat exchanger (54) is disposed in an outdoor unit (12). In the adsorption heat exchanger (56, 57) serving as an evaporator, moisture in the air is adsorbed by the adsorbent. In the adsorption heat exchanger (56, 57) serving as a condenser, moisture is desorbed from the adsorbent and then applied to the air. Then, the air dehumidified or humidified by the adsorption heat exchanger (56, 57) is supplied to a room to cope with latent heat load in the room. On the other hand, in the indoor heat exchanger (55), air is cooled or heated. Then, the air cooled or heated by the indoor heat exchanger (55) is supplied to the room to cope with sensible heat load in the room.

  • Patent number: 7201013
Abstract: Disclosed is an air conditioning apparatus with two adsorption elements (81, 82). The air conditioning apparatus repeatedly alternately performs a first operation in which air is dehumidified by the first adsorption element (81) simultaneously with regeneration of the second adsorption element (82) and a second operation in which air is dehumidified by the second adsorption element (82) simultaneously with regeneration of the first adsorption element (81). At the time of switching between these operations, only the flow path of air is changed, with the adsorption elements (81, 82) remaining stationary. The air conditioning apparatus includes a refrigerant circuit. The refrigerant circuit performs a refrigeration cycle in which a regenerative heat exchanger (92) operates as a condenser and either one of first and second cooling heat exchangers (93, 94) operates as an evaporator.

  • Publication number: 20060207429
Abstract: Disclosed is a humidity control device which is provided with an adsorptive element (81, 82) having a humidity control passageway (85) capable of adsorption of moisture from a first air stream and of release of moisture to a second air stream, and which provides an air stream, the humidity of which is conditioned in the adsorptive element (81, 82), to an indoor space. In the humidity control device, the adsorptive element (81, 82) is provided with an auxiliary passageway (86) through which a heating fluid flows when the adsorptive element (81, 82) is regenerated by releasing moisture to a second air stream from the humidity control passageway (85). As a result, during regeneration of the adsorptive element (81, 82) by releasing moisture to a second air stream, the amount of release moisture is increased, thereby enhancing the device performance.

  • Publication number: 20060196195
Abstract: Provided is a refrigerant circuit (1) which includes a first heat exchanger (3) and a second heat exchanger (5). The refrigerant circuit (1), through which a refrigerant circulates, performs a vapor compression refrigeration cycle. An adsorbent material is supported on a surface of the first heat exchanger (3) as well as on a surface of the second heat exchanger (5). The circulation of refrigerant in the refrigerant circuit (1) and the distribution of air are switched so that moisture present in a stream of air flowing through the refrigerant evaporating heat exchanger (3, 5) is adsorbed by the adsorbent material of the heat exchanger (3, 5) and the stream of air thus converted into a stream of dehumidified air is supplied indoors while, on the other hand, moisture desorbed from the adsorbent material of the refrigerant condensing heat exchanger (5, 3) is released to a stream of air flowing through the heat exchanger (5, 3) whereby the adsorbent material of the heat exchanger (5, 3) is regenerated.
