  • Publication number: 20020188388
Abstract: A vehicle traveling control system and a vehicle control device whereby markers are detected with reliability and information about a local vehicle is transmitted to a succeeding vehicle. Information collecting unit of a preceding vehicle acquires information about the traveling state of the local vehicle associated therewith and supplies the acquired information to modulating unit. The modulating unit modulates the information supplied thereto and supplies the modulated information to blinking unit. The blinking unit causes the markers to blink in accordance with the information supplied thereto. Imaging unit of the succeeding vehicle acquires images of the markers and supplies the acquired images to specifying unit. The specifying unit specifies the marker images from within the image data output from the imaging unit. Validity determining unit determines validity of the specified marker images. Using the marker images, distance measuring unit measures a distance to the preceding vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6347372
Abstract: A multiprocessor control system includes a plurality of processors, a boot control device controlling boot of the plurality of processors, a storage device storing boot data therein, and a shared bus interconnecting the plurality of processors, the boot control device and the storage device. The processors constitute at least one boot processor to which the boot data is to be loaded. The boot control device includes a time slot division unit which produces time slots on the shared bus by multiplexing channels for the processors, and a time sharing control unit which determines a time slot for the boot processor among the time slots produced, and assigns the time slot to the boot processor. The time sharing control unit includes a processor interface part which notifies a time-slot location of the time slot determined, to the boot processor.

  • Patent number: 6226768
Abstract: A coded frame synchronization method for decoding coded information sent every frame includes the steps of: (a) receiving a coded frame having error detection or correction codes, each of which is provided every predetermined number of bits, error detection or correction codes being added to the coded frame in accordance with a predetermined pattern; (b) pulling the coded frame in synchronization by performing an error detection process every predetermined number of bits to be compared with results of the error detection process and thus detecting a phase of the error detection or correction codes; and (c) recognizing a leading end of the coded frame on the basis of the phase of the error detection or correction codes.

  • Patent number: 6081504
Abstract: A cell-discard control apparatus includes an encoding unit for encoding voice/image information in accordance with a prescribed coding scheme. An information dividing unit divides the encoded data into basic information data and detail information data. A basic information cell assembling unit assembles the basic information data into basic information cells. A detail information cell assembling unit assembles the detail information data into detail information cells. A basic information multiplexing unit multiplexes basic information of a plurality of channels for transmission. A detail information multiplexing unit multiplexes detail information of the plurality of channels for transmission. A cell output unit outputs the basic information multiplexed cell and the detail information multiplexed cell and preferentially discards the detail information multiplexed cell in the event of congestion.

  • Patent number: 5509007
Abstract: A cell multiplexing apparatus including call monitors and multiplexers. The call monitors monitor a plurality of channels for their call setting status and select at least two channels for which the same cell may be assembled, i.e., for which the destination of the calls is the same. The multiplexers receive audio information or information already assembled in asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) cells from the channels selected by the call monitors, and disassemble and multiplex the received information for assembly into the payload of a new ATM cell.

  • Patent number: 5301193
Abstract: A delay distortion suppressing system is for use in an asynchronous transfer mode communication system which includes at least a transmitting end and a receiving end which are connected via transmission paths. The delay distortion suppressing system includes a first part provided in the transmitting end for transmitting information in the form of cells in an asynchronous transfer mode, a second part provided in the receiving end for delaying each cell which is received via a transmission path by a predetermined delay time relative to a reference point, a third part provided in the receiving end for varying the reference point depending on an arrival time of the cell which is received at the receiving end via the transmission path, so that a delay distortion of the cells is suppressed, and a fourth part including a decoding part for decoding the cells output from the second part.
