Patent number: 7551605Abstract: A home gateway apparatus is connected to a DNS server that stores and manages telephone numbers and an external NAPTR record corresponding to each telephone number. The home gateway apparatus also includes and mutually connects a plurality of internal terminals. The home gateway apparatus includes an NAPTR record generator that generates an internal NAPTR record of all internal terminals; an internal NAPTR memory area that stores the generated internal NAPTR record; an external NAPTR memory area that stores an external NAPTR record, which is selected from the internal NAPTR record to be allowed to be disclosed to the DNS server; and a self NAPTR record notification unit that notifies the DNS server of the external NAPTR record so that the DNS server can register the external NAPTR record in association with a telephone number.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2004Date of Patent: June 23, 2009Assignee: Panasonic CorporationInventors: Akira Miyajima, Tomonori Shino, Tatsuo Bando

Patent number: 7299260Abstract: A mail retrieval moderator instructs an image memory usage rate calculator to calculate a usage rate of an image memory, and determines whether the usage rage is greater than or equal to 98%. When the answer is “Yes”, there is a risk that the image memory will have a memory overflow if more e-mail is retrieved from the POP3 server. Thus, a timer is reset and the control returns to ST501. When the answer is “No”, there is no risk that the image memory will have a memory overflow even if more e-mail is retrieved from the POP3 server. Thus, e-mail is retrieved from the POP3 server. Accordingly, the apparatus and method for receiving e-mail is capable of securely retrieving e-mail from the mail server, even with a relatively small memory capacity.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2002Date of Patent: November 20, 2007Assignee: Panasonic Communications Co., Ltd.Inventor: Tomonori Shino
