  • Patent number: 7464452
Abstract: A pin connection structure is used in a floating type brake disc assembly. The assembly is made up of a hub, and an annular disc which is concentrically disposed around the hub with a clearance therebetween. The hub and the disc have plural sets of semicircular connecting dents opening toward the clearance to thereby form respective inserting holes. A hollow pin is inserted into each of the inserting holes with a washer fitted on that one end of the hollow pin which is subsequently caulked radially outward for fixing the washer in position. The hollow pin is made of a metal having a surface-treated layer, and the caulked end of the hollow pin is formed into a convex shape in at least part of the end portion.

  • Publication number: 20070158003
Abstract: This invention provides a heat-resistant, high-toughness aluminum alloy which has a good balance between strength and ductility at a temperature from room temperature to around 300 degrees C. and has a high fracture toughness, a method of manufacturing the same, and engine parts. The heat-resistant, high-toughness aluminum alloy of this invention contains 10 to 16 mass. % of silicon, 1 to 3 mass % of iron, 1 to 2 mass % of nickel, 0.5 to 2 mass % in total of one or more selected from the group consisting of titanium, zirconium, chromium and vanadium, 0.6 to 3 mass % of copper, and 0.2 to 2 mass % of magnesium, the balance being essentially aluminum, and is obtained by densifying aluminum alloy powder prepared by gas atomizing. The silicon has an average grain diameter of 4 ?m or less.

  • Publication number: 20060266443
Abstract: To provide a forged piston made of an aluminum alloy which is excellent in heat resistance and abrasion resistance and the lightening of which is enabled. A forged piston made of an aluminum alloy is provided including 8 to 18 wt % of Si, 0.5 to 3 wt % of Cu and 1 to 5 wt % of Ni, further including Al and unavoidable impurities, in which more Ni is included than Cu and the maximum length of an intermetallic compound generated by Al and Ni is 3 to 100 ?m.

  • Patent number: 6219919
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a tapered rectangular pipe for a vehicle comprising the steps of forming the tapered rectangular pipe into the rectangular raw pipe by an extrusion forming under any optional irregular thickness condition in a first step. Then the rectangular raw pipe is reduced to form a tapered part to make a tapered, irregular thickness, rectangular pipe member in a second step.

  • Patent number: 6213063
Abstract: A water pump includes a pump body and a pump cover. An impeller is housed in a pump chamber defined by the pump body and pump cover. The impeller is attached to one end of a hollow pump shaft. The pump shaft is engaged with a driving section at its other end. An intermediate part of the pump shaft is supported by a shaft support section, in the form of a cylindrical section, of the pump body. The shaft support section is longer than a diameter of the pump shaft. The shaft support section is lubricated via an oil groove. One end of the shaft support section is brought into contact with a flange of the pump shaft via a washer. The flange is integrally formed on the pump shaft by a beading process.
