Abstract: Various novel sampling heads and interface fittings are disclosed herein adapted for use with handheld RAMAN or other material evaluating devices or analyzers using radiation or electromagnetic energy to identify sampled materials. In particular, the interface fittings or members facilitate measurement of irregularly shaped or very small materials to be sampled.

Abstract: A passive keyless entry (PKE) system, comprising a DC power source and a base station with a housing that includes a first portion being made of a first material that shields radio frequency (RF) signaling and a second portion being made of a second material that permits RF signaling, is particularly adapted for premise entry and is designed to be powered by common household batteries to unlock a premise door as a user approaches within a prescribed arms-length distance from the premise door. The PKE system further comprises a printed circuit board and a low frequency (LF) emitting antenna coil positioned both perpendicular to the printed circuit board and behind the second material of the housing while having a center axis oriented in a horizontal orientation. The LF emitting antenna coil transmits a LF interrogating signal upon detecting a user within the prescribed arms-length distance from the base station.

Abstract: A system and method for transmitting information related to items offered for sale at a market lace location includes reviewing a first video stream to identify items displayed in the first video stream which correspond to the items offered for sale at the marketplace location, and generating a second video stream related to and including images of the items for sale at the, marketplace location. The method further includes causing the transmission of the second video stream to a user through a media outlet and receiving a purchase request from the user for at least one item offered for sale at the marketplace location and included in the first or second video stream.

The identified information may be other than information that is already being displayed in listings by the network-based marketplace. Abstract: In an example embodiment, a system comprises at least one module, executing on one or more computer processors, to identify at least one item offered for sale by a seller in a network-based marketplace, the item associated with a listing and a first set of information describing the listing; based at least on the first set of information, generate a second set of information to supplement the first set of information, wherein the second set of information comprises information at least related to the item and further comprises information related to the seller of the item; generate one or more multimedia programs comprising at least some of the second set of information; push the second set of information to at least one user in the network-based marketplace; enable the user to make a purchase request for the item for sale using the second set of information; and receive a purchase request for the item for sale from the user.

Abstract: A gate valve for controlling fluid flow, in which a valve body forms a cylindrical flowbore and includes a gate cavity intersecting the flowbore to provide opposed openings into the flowbore. Seat pockets are formed in the opposed openings, each with a radial base and a side wall, and may optionally include metal carrier ring sealed in the seat pockets. The gate is slidably movable within the valve body between open and closed positions. Annular seat elements are mounted in each seat pocket for limited axial movement on opposite sides of the gate, with a first seal surface for sealing against the seat pocket or optional carrier ring, and a second seal surface for sealing against the gate. A non-metallic bridging seal formed as a face seal is provided between the first seal surface of the annular seat element and the seat pocket (or optional carrier ring).

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for integrating multi-mode communication modalities are implemented in a communication platform nexus which is coupled to the public switch telephone network, a wide area data network and a wireless communication network. The communication platform receives communication attempts directed at a subscriber, from communication devices without regard to their underlying network transport medium. The platform receives and processes communication attempts and forwards attempted communications to the subscriber over all of the communication media available to the platform, simultaneously. Caller-id information is directed to a subscriber along with an interactivity option selection list, over a wide area data network link. A subscriber enters interaction options selections as call control signals and forwards the signals to the platform over the wide area data network link.

Abstract: A two-stage formulation for a general purpose industrial cleaner has been found to be ideal in terms of its effectiveness, ease of production and long term stability. The base compound formulation includes: (1) water, (2) tetrapotassium pyrophosphate (T.K.P.P.), (3) trisodium phosphate, (4) a premixed blend of tall oil fatty acid, nonionic surfactant, and monoethanolamine, (5) coconut diethanolamide, (6) glycol butyl ether, (7) isopropyl alcohol, and (8) 45% potassium hydroxide solution. A finished product is made from; (1) water, (2) base compound, (3) more T.K.P.P., (4) more glycol ether butyl, and (5) lemon fragrance. The two-part formulation allows for the concentrated base compound to be separately mixed and shipped with the diluted finished product to be formulated near the locality of the end user.

Abstract: 3',6-Diisopentenyl-2',4'-dihydroxy-5,7-dimethoxyisoflavan has been isolated from Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch. It has been found that this compound and other related compounds are potent stimulators of benzodiazepine receptors and thereby useful as effective anxiolytic agents. Furthermore, these compounds have been found to be potent antidotes of avermectin.
