  • Patent number: 11675588
Abstract: A reconfigurable compute fabric can include multiple nodes, and each node can include multiple tiles with respective processing and storage elements. A first tile in a first node can include a processor with a processor output and a first register network configured to receive information from the processor output and information from one or more of the multiple other tiles in the first node. In response to an output instruction and a delay instruction, the register network can provide an output signal to one of the multiple other tiles in the first node. Based on the output instruction, the output signal can include one or the other of the information from the processor output and the information from one or more of the multiple other tiles in the first node. A timing characteristic of the output signal can depend on the delay instruction.

  • Patent number: 11636034
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods related to a write-back cache policy to limit data transfer time to a memory device are described. A controller can orchestrate performance of operations to write data to a cache according to a write-back policy and write addresses associated with the data to a buffer. The controller can further orchestrate performance of operations to limit an amount of data stored by the buffer and/or a quantity of addresses stored in the buffer. In response to a power failure, the controller can cause the data stored in the cache to be flushed to a persistent memory device in communication with the cache.

  • Publication number: 20230079727
Abstract: Disclosed in some examples are methods, systems, devices, and machine-readable mediums that use parallel hardware execution with software co-simulation to enable more advanced debugging operations on data flow architectures. Upon a halt to execution of a program thread, a state of the tiles that are executing the thread are saved and offloaded from the HTF to a host system. A developer may then examine this state on the host system to debug their program. Additionally, the state may be loaded into a software simulator that simulates the HTF hardware. This simulator allows for the developer to step through the code and to examine values to find bugs.

  • Publication number: 20230074452
Abstract: Devices and techniques for triggering early termination of cooperating processes in a processor are described herein. A system includes multiple memory-compute nodes, wherein a memory-compute node comprises: event manager circuitry configured to establish a broadcast channel to receive event messages; and thread manager circuitry configured to organize a plurality of threads to perform portions of a cooperative task, wherein the plurality of threads each monitor the broadcast channel to receive event messages on the broadcast channel, and wherein upon achieving a threshold operation, the thread manager circuitry is to use the event manager circuitry to broadcast, on the broadcast channel, an event message indicating that the cooperative task is complete, causing other threads, in response to receiving the event message, to terminate execution of their respective portions of the cooperative task.

  • Publication number: 20230060587
Abstract: Disclosed in some examples are methods, systems, memory devices, and machine-readable mediums that allows an application thread to indicate an undo logging operation when calculations are beginning that may need to be rolled back if a crash or other failure occurs. During the undo logging operation, memory writes an identified memory are done to a copy and the original value is preserved. If the undo logging operation is committed, then the copy becomes the correct value and may then be subsequently used in place of the original, or the value stored in the copy is copied to the original. If the undo logging operation is abandoned, the copy is not preserved and the value goes back to the original.

  • Publication number: 20230056665
Abstract: Devices and techniques for providing receipts for event messages in a processor are described herein. A system includes multiple memory-compute nodes coupled to one another over a scale fabric; a set of registers; and an event manager hardware circuitry to: receive an event message corresponding to an event, and the event associated with an event mode; track a counter value representing a number of received event messages related to the event, the counter value stored in the set of registers; compare the number of received event messages to a trigger value; and in response to the number of received event messages equaling the trigger value: use an atomic operation to reset the counter value in the set of registers while maintaining the event mode; and alert a thread of the event.

  • Publication number: 20230058668
Abstract: A cache memory can maintain multiple cache lines and each cache line can include a data field, an encryption status attribute, and an encryption key attribute. The encryption status attribute can indicate whether the data field in the corresponding cache line includes encrypted or unencrypted data and the encryption key attribute can include an encryption key identifier for the corresponding cache line. In an example, a cryptographic controller can access keys from a key table to selectively encrypt or unencrypt cache data. Infrequently accessed cache data can be maintained as encrypted data, and more frequently accessed cache data can be maintained as unencrypted data. In some examples, different cache lines in the same cache memory can be maintained as encrypted or unencrypted data, and different cache lines can use respective different encryption keys.

  • Publication number: 20230056500
Abstract: Devices and techniques for CHAINED RESOURCE LOCKING are described herein. Threads form a last-in-first-out (LIFO) queue on a resource lock to create a chained lock on the resource. A data store representing the lock for the resource holds the previous thread’s identifier, enabling a subsequent thread to wake the previous thread using the identifier when the subsequent thread releases the lock. Generally, the thread releasing the lock need not interact with the data store, reducing contention for the data store among many threads.

  • Publication number: 20230053439
Abstract: A reconfigurable compute fabric can include multiple nodes, and each node can include multiple tiles with respective processing and storage elements. The tiles can be arranged in an array or grid and can be communicatively coupled. In an example, the tiles can be arranged in a one-dimensional array and each tile can be coupled to its respective adjacent neighbor tiles using a direct bus coupling. Each tile can be further coupled to at least one non-adjacent neighbor tile that is one tile, or device space, away using a passthrough bus. The passthrough bus can extend through intervening tiles.
